11 DAYS AND MY INSIDES ARE STILL SHAKING

Mornings are the worst, it's last for a few hours.  I did post a few days ago and talked about anxiety.  I don't know if the shaking is due to anxiety.  Thanks for all your help.

I'm so glad you are getting some sleep.  I think it's a big part of the healing process and it cuts down the anxiety that comes with this.  I find when I can't sleep for a long time then the anxiety sets in.
Your shakiness could be a side effect from the gabapentin.  If it really starts to bother you, ask your doctor.  It is a common side effect from gabapentin.
I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Pat,

Yes, I am sleeping, I take gabapentin for pain before bedtime which works wonders for me.

Thank you for your post.

Hi, I found that I need alot less caffiene now that I am not on pills anymore.  Of course I didn't put two and two together at first though.  Are you drinking caffiene?  If so, maybe try cutting back some.  That helped me alot.

Hi seagull,

Going through the same thing, only with a benzo taper. My stomach gets all gurgly and I feel shaky. What helps me is to get up and take a shower and then eat something bland like toast or oatmeal. It does get better over time but it sure stinks while going through it. I hope you feel better soon.

Seagull,

Yes, you are going to be shaky.  I was shaky for 2 weeks then in went away and around 30 days, i started getting severe panic attacks.  Our brains are so out of whack nothing is normal and it takes awhile.  I am finally over 100 days clean and am just now feeling really good.  I had to get on anti anxiety which was a life saver but i no longer have to take.  Also, I had to get on an anti depressant which has done wonders.

I would recommend eating protein bars or protein drinks. These really seemed to help me especially with energy.  Exercising will get the endorphines in your brain moving again which also helps you feel better.

We didnt become an addict overnight, so we cannot heal overnight either.  Good luck!

Hi Seagull,
I am on day 9 and wake up feeling pretty shaky and yucky.  It does seem to pass.  I felt better yesterday than I do today and don't have as much energy as I did yesterday.  I have tried to eat more often today.  I seem to be hungry but don't really have the energy to make anything so I am eating easy things like english muffins, cheese, canned salmon.  It seems to help.  Are you sleeping much yet?
