Im glad more people came 9n and posted....i wanted to say sonething but its only what worked for me....i'm not pushing it BUT i got actual physical brain relief going to meetings in the beginning....literally, it would give me some relief from my own head which helped tremendously. It blew my mind b/c i wasnt talking (i hadnt even introduced myself) but listening helped!
I am also off of subs. I feel like the hardest part is the mental. First you deal with the active symptoms (approx 2 weeks for me) then the energy crisis (ongoing). I'm still in my energy crisis. For me, if I don't do something, my poor legs get restless then I can't sleep. Granted, I'm not running any marathons soon but I do make myself do stuff around the house. I do that by putting earphones in my ears and blasting music. For whatever reason, this works. I will even do yard work! I go to n/a meetings. Remember that it's one day at a time. If I start thinking this will last for many more weeks/months, I'll go crazy. So, I attempt to forget all that.
I'm coming from 16 mgs a day down to 4 mgs of SuboXone RHEN I Jumped At 4mgs C/t.
This is my 17th day and I will tell you what you don't want to hear. The more you lay around the worse you'll feel. Seriously I'm walkinG fast now I'm almost able to run again. I had to literally force myself to do anything for the 1st 10 days. Now everyday better. I drank lots of Gatorade/water/freshfruit/freshveggies and NO JUNK FOOD OR CAFFIENE. I think it prolongs it all. I even say no smoking. But for some I guess it's not possible. Now I will say one thing that helped me turn the corner. Not sure if I'm allowed to say this bit it sincerely helped me. I took a few hits of pot. It's legal here btw. From that day it's been all good! Mostly mental obviously but some of the physical stuff gets easier the more you start using your body again.
Good luck man
It's hard to go to a meeting and exercise, I know. It's an effort just to check the mail, I'm sure!
Listen, if nothing else, you have to eat and drink. Try doing protein drinks, you need the protein to feel better. As the others said, hydration is important. Get some emergenC to add to water. It has just about everything in it you need. You're not going to feel good if you don't do these things.
Keep posting here with questions and for support.
I wanted to chime in....Jan, 2014, I detoxed off of 24mg of subs per day for 7 years....I know EXACTLY how you feel right now. It took roughly 3/4 weeks for the major w/d symptoms to start to subside but I was still in the bathroom 23 hours of a 24 hour day! Are you taking the Immodium for the stomach issues b/c honestly, it will allow you to rest a bit.
I know you don't want to get up....i hear ya....but even getting up and stretching is better than nothing! Drink, drink, drink.....FORCE YOURSELF! You can make the detox much worse by dehydrating. Are you taking any type of multivitamin? Do you have no one that can run to the store for you to get you some things that will help...bananas, protein bars, protien shakes, etc....
Epsom Salt baths helped tremendously..... I took 4/5 a day b/c I was sweating so damn bad.
Tell me what you CAN do.....can you go sit outside? Can you drive? Can you take a walk down the street?
Hi & Welcome.
It has been a bit slow lately. Someone who came off of subs will be along soon. Just keep checking your post.
I came off of Methadone with 2 other meds and I had to c/t.
These meds are so synthetic that they take time to detox out.
Meanwhile try to eat healthy and stay hydrated. Drinks LOTS of water and/or pick up some electrolytes to add to water. Also drink lots of lemon water and now and then put a dash of seasalt in the water. This will help to keep you hydrated.. We have to replenish back what vit/min we have lost during our using. Try to take Epsom salt baths as this draws out toxins and helps relax you. The brain will take time to balance back all it's Nero-chemisty too. So emotions might be all whacked out for awhile. There is so much more you can do, but I will wait for your questions if I am on.
Hang tight friend. It can be done and it WILL be over soon. The hard part is working on staying clean. This is where we need all the support we can get.
Bless
