17wks preg,2 days into methadone

ive been addicted to opiates for 3 years almost..the last week i used benzos which helped me get through withdrawals mostly..just still had the restless legs and no sleep plus cravings still.So i went to a detox center where i never started my process because i am pregnant..so they referred me to a center that provides methadone to pregnant woman to help them off opiates..ive only gone for the last 2 days and i guess im confused if i should even be going here..the 2 days ive tooken 20mg of the methadone i have had really bad nausea.i cant eat anything. should i stay on or what?any previous pregnancies while taking methadone will help

Hi!  I would talk to a good ob-gyn doc about this immediately!  They are really the only people who understand the affect on a baby that drugs have.  I'm not saying you're in danger.  I just don't know.  No one but a professional does!

   I was a little over 4 months....already knew the sex and everything.....

  I`ve been on methadone for 7 years and am now tapering. I remember when I first started on them I would have hot flashes and hiper. I had a sick belly for about a week before it went away. Methadone has a very long half life so it takes a while to start acting and also takes a while to get out of your system. I wish I never would have started on methadone. I agree you need to do some research and talk to your doctor some more about it.

  don't stop opiates of any kind while pregnant...I was taking painkillers and methadone and found out I was pregnant...so thinking it would be the best thing I stopped...and because of it I had a miscarriage...I would definitely talk to your Dr...as far as starting methadone... I would do lots of research first!..
