ive lost a friend over oding on methadone and oc

my best friend has been gone for a year and half now she was only 28 she took to much of methadone and oc and it killed her. it's crazy to be so blind to someone esle addiction i didnt see it. I wish i payed more attention to her needs

Both my Uncles died in their 40's one from heroin and one from pills.  Although it has been years it still haunts me today that I (or my family) did not do more to save them.  Now I put myself on the same path.  Although I am now 72 hours clean and fighting to make it through tomorrow the truth is only the addict can save them selves.  Sorry for you loss.

I Jenn.. sorry about your friend she was young it makes it all the sadder.. as active addicts we are very good at hiding our addictions.. we are masters at manipulation and deceit. and when we are in the thralls of our addiction we notice nothing around us unless it involves our drugs as we are self consumed and not living in reality. it is sad that she did not live long enough to figure out she was the only one that could get herself to stop.. take care of you on Your journey ok. lesa
