I have 20 bucks to my name. I am going to have a very rough weekend with withdrawals. Someone please tell me the best things to spend that 20 dollars on to help me at home with withdrawals. I have a daughter to take care of and this is going to be horrible. I am now down to two pills so I know it will be coming soon

look up "vitamin C and opiate (or heroin)" on Google.
Hit on the interview with the doctor, "Beat Hard Drug Addiction With High Doses Of Vitamin C."  Listen to it.  It works.
The key is the size of the vitamin C dose.  Get Sodium Ascorbate (vit C) and take it every hour or 2.  You will feel fine . . . aside from diarea.

Valerian root or 5HTP both help with anxiety.  If you don't have it or are out of cash, soaking in the tub with Epsom salts will make a big difference.  You can do this.  Try not to anticipate what mightappen.  Everyone is different.  Symptoms can vary with the same person when they've detoxed more than once.  Just deal with each symptom as it comes.  Try distracting yourself.  I know it can be hard but if you can distract yourself it will make a big difference.

I found that the fear of what I was going to experience was really much worse than the physical symptoms themselves. I'm not trying to sugar coat. There will be some days when you feel like crap but remember, they will pass. The physical symptoms will slowly decrease and gradually improve.
I really hope that you can find a way to take your antidepressants and get into some counseling of some kind.
I think that so many of us become addicts because we find pills, alcohol, etc. make us feel better (less depressed, less anxious) quickly and we start using the substances to self-medicate. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to treat the underlying depression, anxiety, etc. and learn new, healthier coping skills. This will help in your reovery!

I honestly think if you just "fake it til ya make it" or pretend you have the flu, or be positive about it all ...it makes a difference. Your anxiety is high...that's obvious. Just take some steps back and breathe. Ride the waves and ficus on the image of you as the best mother possible for your children. Also figure out some aftercare. It will be well needed and well deserved. You will be ok...

You really have to try stay calm, it sounds like your anxiety is through the roof with you "expecting it to be brutal" having a positive mind will really help you wd faster. Try a funny tv show to take your mind off of it.
Make a schedule for yourself, clean the house, go to the park, walk your child to school etc. If you sit on the couch thinking about it it's just going to get worse then your mind will play tricks on you saying "well I can buy just one pill to get better" so I really hope you will take rosys advise and cut all your sources.. doctors n streets

Sweetie you are going to be fine! NO emergency room visits are called for. Its a few days of detox for a lifetime of freedom! You have to remember that the addict mind will do all it can to get you to take just "one more." your mind can and will play tricks on you so its important to keep busy! ANOTHER THING and A VERY IMPORTANT ONE is you MUST cut all your sources and seal the cracks so the devil can't slip in during a weak moment! ALL sources that you have to get pills! You do not need a JUST IN CASE contact! Imagine the money you can save and spend on your child! EYES ON THE PRIZE and NO TURNING BACK

First things first: One two three.
Go to the store
Buy the stuff on the list.
Immodium. Chicken soup. Epsom salts. Crakers.. like saltines.
DRINK WATER! Stay hydrated.
Treat it like you have a very bad flu. It will pass. I know it will seems like the first few days feel like years. BUT>>>> It Will pass. Take baths. They will help you sleep and feel better.

So STOP.  Get the items recommended by the other posters with the money you have and prepare yourself.  You CAN get through this.  This starts with you and your resolve.  You have to want this more than you've ever wanted anything before.  For now, get through the detox, and then you can figure out what kind of aftercare you'll need.

You can do this.

If I go to hosp, will the info go to my doc? I don't want it to. Who would be ae to see this info? Could they take my daughter away? I only take 5mg. Vic. But I take 5 at a time. I'm depressed and it helps me get out of bed, coach my daughters cheerleading, clean, cook, be a fun mom. Insurance doesn't cover pyscologist. I can't go to a rehab for three days. Noone to help. This would be on my permanent record.

I'd also consider getting some Imodium.  It helps with the stomach issues but also helps with the other withdrawal symptoms.  It supposedly has an opiate base that doesn't cross the blood brain barrier.  I didn't really believe it would work but it did.  Google imodium for withdrawals and you'll get a good idea of how much it helps.  It definitely takes more than the edge off.  Get the generic to save some money; it works just as well.

Here's a post I made awhile back about the benefits of magnesium in Epsom salts:  (there are a TON of benefits I had no idea!!!)

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/Why-are-Epsom-Salts-so-good-for-recoveryand-beyond--I-had-to-find-outlol/show/1987644

If I only had $20 and knew what I do now....I'd get:

1) Dr. Teals Epsom Salts ($5),  2) Imodium (? on the $),  3)  a box of 30 Emergen-C packets (tons of vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, etc.) in liquid form so your body utilizes them faster, drink/push the WATER, and either chicken noodle soup or Stouffer's Mac & Cheese (frozen) and EASY! (or a tub of whey protein powder if you don't think you'll feel like eating)

Magnesium will be in a capsule form. It's going to be pretty inexpensive and available at any drugstore and perhaps at the grocery store or even Walmart. Get magnesium, Epsom salts, and some bananas. Look for coupons online if you can. Sometimes there are coupons for vitamins and such.
