21 and done too much already

Hi. I'm 21 from South Australia. I've been smoking pot for 12 years now, i drink every day, i take codeine every day, i have to take mersyndol or valium to sleep at night, and i no longer feel normal human emotions or feelings anymore. without the assistance of illicit substances. What should i do now? I have no idea. I cant stay this dependant on substances to feel "normal" forever. Every week, every day, it takes more and more to get me to "normal" so i can "feel regular feelings". its bloody terrible. I could go see my GP and tell him my story, but i'm wondering if anyone has any advice or tips they can give me on here, or any direction to point me in. thank you :-)

ok i've made an appointment to see my doctor in a few hours to get some medication to help with my withdrawl process. i'd assume they will prescribe Diazepam, or possibly try & give me Pericyazine again argh. i had horrible side-effects from Pericyazine, and they don't seem to like giving anybody Valium for any reason. especially not a recovering drug-addict lol. but what else is there to help relieve they symptoms of withdrawl? nothing apart from Benzos as far as i know anyway.

i started smoking pot at 10 , dealing it bout 12. snorting cocaine at 13, smoking it by 15. do not feel alone, or like an odd duck, there are many out here like you. take back control of your life, please do not waste it like i did. read my journals, stay on here, and we will help ya get clean. i have to work soon , but willcheck in on ya wheni get home. think it would help to inform you GP, they can help with tapers, and all the other things you are going thru. but if ya dont want to inform them, then there are people on here that can help with that. 21 is still young, you can have a normal life if ya want it.... much love

I started using around 13 yrs. old.
It's never too early to start feelings again and living life. You will have such a better life if you stop using now. I used most of my life.
Had 10 years sober of my adult life then started using perscription drugs for pain and thus started bsing myself about not being an addict with the pain pills I "needed".
Anyway the fact is getting sober is a huge job and you can do it. there are usually alot of cool people with lots of experience here to love and support you in your journey to soberity. One Day at a Time!
