LOL I was sneezing as I read the head line of the post. I hate the sneezing sooo much I been clean now 6 days and it has been a sneezing none stop time. Today I went out with a friend he drove. My eyes hurt sooo bad from the sun light I could barley open them I did not have my glasses with me. I have got the sneezing, watery eyes and the yawning none stop also. FUN FUN stuff

Hi there & Welcome!

Sneezing is one of the initial signs of acute withdrawal. (Yawning & watery eyes usually precede sneezing.) When you're on opiates they flood the body with histamines (that's why people scratch when they're high.) When they're withdrawn the body's natural histamine response is shut down & so you sneeze & tear a lot. It's completely normal to experience this in detox & the symptom diminishes over time.

Sneezing, oh yeah, that's a sign you're clean, or getting there. I describe as feeling allergic to air. You know how the nose feels numb when you first start using opiates? I rubbed mine all the time. I think our sinuses and nose are hyper sensitive after the opiates are gone. I had the same hyper-sensitivity in all my being. I'm glAd I had a good aftercare, when the emotions were no longer numbed. It all balances out, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, but it always gets better.
