30 days!

Never thought I'd make it this far! Yes, I had a slip up with alcohol and weed but haven't had opiates or subs for 30 days! I was afraid I would search out pills since I didn't have naloxone and subs clogging my receptors. I admit, there are many times I think about doing that. But today, I'm not. Going to meetings and have fun them fulfilling. Still need the Imodium. When will that pass??

It takes our internal organs a long time to heal.  i have always said it is too bad we cant look inside our bodies and see how things are going.  Patience is the key here and one of 2 most hated words on the forum....the other one is time!  The alcohol has played a part in the bowel thing too.  Let your body be totally chemical free now and heal.  Are you taking any supplements?

Didn't know that about Imodium. Why is everything addicting? Ok, not everything but still! I'm taking one pill about every 3rd day. I just didn't think it would last this long. I'm still new to being sober so I guess I've just got to be patient with my body while it heals. It's the sweaty hands that really bothers me.

Yay!! Congrats on 30 days!!! I'd suggest if you can handle having the bit of diarrhea  now I'd stop the imodium. Your body can become dependant on it if you use it everyday. Just make sure your drinking lots of clear fluids so you don't dehydrate And only take the recommended dosage. I used it for about 10 days every second or third day. It last up to 10-12 hours. It can take months for the bowels to get back to normal.

Hi  congrats on 30 days opiet free.....im so happy to here your going to meetings it is the single best thing you can do to help your recovery  as for the weed and alcohol it to can become a problem and it is very very ez to become cross addicted just remember weed and alcohol are drugs ''we are a people with the disease of addiction and have to abstain from all drugs''....just for the record if you truly work the N/A progam ..go to meetings get a sponcer and work the 12 steps with time you will loose the very desire to use....something I thought would be impossible....if it works for a old dope fiend like me it will work for anyone.........Gnarly

Good job on the 30 days!! Don't feel bad about your slip up, in the early days of my detox, I befriended Jose Cuervo more than a few times. Pick yourself up, dust off, and keep on truckin, your doing great!! Good luck my friend!!!~Sherry
