33 days clean and feeling perfect

I've been posting as often as I can. 33 days ago I cold turkey off of 65mg of methadone. I told myself that I can beat this and did. There are keys you will need. First is family. Second is heart. And third is this forum. This website helped me big time because we're all in this together and its like having a big family. If your family is not with you well, we're your family. I feel so great and don't even think of pills or anything. All I think about is how I wanna help ppl that are in the same position I was in 33 days ago. I'm 30 years old not a doctor or anything like that but I can tell you that this can be done. Just know that in about a week, everyday gets better. It will I promise. You will love your new life. Even if you are still thinking ur at rock bottom just stop and think, " I beat this". And know that you're on ur way to the life you want. All I want and think now is goals goals goals. Step by step. This is and will be the way you've always wanted if you put your heart in it and stick with it. Baby steps baby. If I can do it so can you. I've been addicted for 2 years and was using everyday. I'm sorry. I was addicted. I know some ppl may say " well I've been addicted for 10 or 20 years" and this guy don't know ****. Well I can tell you I do. I've seen my family go through this as well. All I'm trying to do right now is show you there is hope and a light at the end of that nasty tunnel. Its worth the 2 weeks of being sick. Just tell urself you have the flu and take vitamins as much as you can to try and trick ur mind. Kinda like blind dosing. Those vitamins will speed it up also eat oatmeal. Its perfect for restoring your brain alil faster. Long walks with your dog or family members when you can get up any energy. I know its hard. But we have to keep our minds busy. Get on this site and stay here as long as you can. It helps. The way I feel now is even better then before I took pills. Because now I'm smart at know what I missed out on. And now I wanna hit my goals. Anyways I'm sorry to keep going on. My love goes out to all of you and wish you the best. Stay positive and keep going if you stopped taking whatever it is you took to get tgrough the day. Peace

SOOOOOO HAPPY to finally hear that SOMEONE has GREAT news for us in our third week of w/d from this nasty little pill!!! I keep telling myself it will get better just make it threw today but the mind is so powerful its hard to overcome!! To all of you trying to kick the methadone habit Google up Dr David Arneson he had addiction problem for 18 years. And he has found the solution he explains what methadone does to the brain, about seretonin levels and dopamine levels and what kind of amino acids and vitamins and herbs that you have to put back in your body for it to fix itself. It has worked for me went down from 130 to 44mgs in a month with just a little discomfort he says there is no free lunch, but let me tell you as you lower your dose and increase things that help your brain and body you will really feel the difference especially the lack of energy I have more now than when i was just lowering my dose and i know longer just sit in front of tv and let life pass me buy. Google and read what he says and make an informed decision. And never take methadone for pill addiction like i did this was the worst mistake of my life Take care preacher1000

Congrats and nice post. It's so true about baby steps, getting clean has been a journey for sure. Keep that attitude, it's half the battle.
