Hey Karl:
I'm nearly at 2 months since jumping from 5mg. cold turkey. I still have issues every now and then so don't get too discouraged. I've been getting better and better as time goes by. I think the bathroom thing is going to take a little longer before it will stop, sorry! My sponser was heavily addicted to high doses of Vicodins and he's told me it took him an entire year to feel really normal again. Once you get through the withdrawals, life will come at you and what I'm struggling most at right now is happiness. I'm not a very happy when I'm home and trying to be a family man. My relief, most of my relief anyway comes from AA/NA meetings. Those are the only people in my life who REALLY understand what is going on with me right now.

Great to hear you are still on the path!  I am like 9 or 10 days behind you and I must say that you describe my situation to the tee....the physicals have subsided, with the expection of an upset stomach here and there or diminished tastebuds.  I just told my wife that I really felt I was entering a serious bout with depression.  I have beautiful kids, stable job, and find it really hard to be happy and fun-loving.  I honestly am just going to continue to "fake it till' I make it"

Hang in there and keep it moving.  Too bad, that us men do not have childbirth to measure our pains by...lol @ brightfuture!

Keep a positive mental attitude just think about what some cancer people have to go through and know you can do this.  You ahve come so far I have heard it can take a while to get better off of it but it will happen.  When I start focusing on all my pains or feeling like I want a pill because I feel like crap, know that one it will go away and two it hurt a lot more giving birth, for me at least.

Karl, congrats on your month !!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

hang in... sometimes we can get desperate but things do get better, keep walking,,,,i used the valerian root for the anxiety and 5htp for the first months... don't forget the vitamins and a good complex of B's for the lack of energy , i also took ltyrosine.... and if they don't work for you, as vicki has told you, you may try an antidepressant..

there is something good around the corner, have faith, karl :) wish you the best this next month !

Karl~  Good for you!  I know you're not feeling that great. The vitamins,as Mark said, will help. Also try some 5HTP,it will help with sleep and anxiety issues.  If the depression persists, tell the doctor. You may need an antidepressant to get over the hump!
Stay in touch!

You are doing really well!  Congrats.  I know the depression and low energy is rough, but please don't give up!  Can you talk with your doctor about it?

I am so, so, so proud of you, Karl!
