I had a UA done after taking 3-4 Lortab on a daily basis for the past three years; however, the UA has tested negative twice within the past 6 weeks.  How is this possible?

I take lots of other RXs...Oxycodone, Xanax, Zantac, Zofran, Allegra, Benadryl, Prozac, blood pressure med, lots of stomach stuff like Compazine, Tigan, I had gastric bypass and though I lost over 277 lbs, it has done a number of things to my stomach and metabolism..everything goes through pretty fast, but according to the dr, they sent them a list of meds i take and the metalites from the Lortab didn't linger like they should have...I also take a detox OTC stuff called VEM, which seems to have given me back a lot of vitamins and minerals as I don't retain them...I also take 53,000 units of Vit D weekly due to the bypass surgery...my immune system is shot according to tests at KU...I am not a child, nor am I an addict...I really needed the Lortab to control pain, as it was what I took mostly, 3-4 times daily and the Oxy, though prescribed 6-8 times daily, isn't taken very often at all as it makes me itch all over...so there must be something in the medications that I take daily which is dumping the Lortab out of my system, I would like to know whiich med it is as it makes me look like a complete moron at the drs office, where I have been going for over 15 years...thanks

Sorry, I kind of read that as you had stopped the Lortabs a while back. With a negative result the Doc probably can't help but think that you are selling them or something. You can request a re-test, or you even could ask for a blood test that shouldn't miss - what other med's are you taking? Stranger things have happenned...........

I didn't particulary want it to be negative, because the drs office stopped the Lortab cold turkey and told me to take Zanaflex for withdrawal systems.  I have extreme severe pain due to a tick bite, leading to lung surgery, messing up the nerve endings from my back to my rib cages...I don't do illegal stuff...is there a medication that I am taking or have taken recently that detoxes that out of my system??  The drs office said that with me taking 3-4 daily, my metalites should have registered in an UA, but it didn't and I have taken them everyday..the drs will not give me more Lortab due to the negative UAs..there has to be something I am taking causing this...the lab is Ameritox and they are rated pretty well...thanks

Worried is quite right about the quality of the test - maybe your clinic is using up a supply of older ones or they just don't want to spend the bucks for top shelf tests - anyway the hydro doesnt stay in your body like pot does - no matter how long you have been taking them historically........

Dont know...call it lucky or it is a cheap test that is not very sensitive.....i would think they are testing for narcotics on most UAs...some are cheap and do not pick it up unless u take a butt load.....earlier people were arguing about cocaine and a UA...i sear my neighbor pasedd after 3 days..she did not do much and was not a daily user...depends on the quality of the test used on how good it picks stuff up
