advise con't

Maybe my last post was getting too long and no one would read it....i dont know. I need someone to talk to right now. I'm approaching almost 24 hours without a pill in my system. I haven't eaten a bite in almost that long either. Just can't stomach anything. I have drank about half a bottle of gatorade, but thats it. just cant get anything to stay down. Seems like the restless legs have eased off a TINY bit. my back feels like i've been hit by a car. I dont even have the energy to sit up straight. The sweats went away last night and havent returned. hopefully they'll stay gone! Diareah has stopped since i've been doped up on immodium. I wish I could sleep for about 5 hours and wake up a new person. BUT... I got myself into this, I'm determined to get myself out of it! I want to be better by the weekend so maybe if my family wants to go to dinner or something i'll at least feel like that. I'm a substitute teacher and i HAVE to get back to work! WHere do you all think I stand? Do you think I'm past the peek yet? Let me know what your thoughts are as to where I stand and what I have coming at me.

Hi - this board is a great resource.  At least it was for me.  Your withdrawals are directly related to how much you were taking and how long.  What is your history?  I know this is not what you want to hear but the first 24 hours is just the beginning.  Have you looked up the Thomas Recipe?  It is in the bottom right hand of this page under Most Viewed Health Pages.  I agree with Laurel453, all of their suggestions are good.  Other things I tried:  heating blanket, hot showers and before exiting put a generous amount of a great smelling shower gel, Calm tea by Tazo (I added honey), bananas, apples, strawberry/banana smoothies, popcorn, stock up on your favorite healthy foods and some guilty pleasures.  I would reward myself for each day that I did not use.  Take the money that you used to use on drugs and use that for rewards - I got body massages, facials and pedicures.  Getting enough energy to go to the spa to get a massage etc. took everything that I had.  The energy issue is really hard.  Everyone swears by exercise but I have to be honest - I haven't felt well enough to exercise yet.   I am on day number 3.  Hope this helps.  Hang in there.  It is NOT easy by any means but it is worth it.

each one is different but i don't think you are over the worst yet, mamaamw... you are entering the worst part, so to speak...But maybe, the stomach will settle soon so you can eat a little, try a protein shake, a toast with cheese and with an  apple/orange juice... Are you taking any mineral supplements ? they help with muscle aches and RLS, magnesium +calcium and potasium... Hylands restful legs is also another natural remedy that helps.. All in all helps to alleviate the symptoms but you will not feel great, this is for sure in another couple of days... take hot baths with epsom salts, it is a temporary relief but it works...Lack of sleep is a problem , maybe melatonin and valerian root can help you too if you are not taking any other sleeping med or an antidepressant... It is good that you are determined, this is what will pull through all, your mind !! :)
