taperme~ I have tried motrin. I interval motrin and aleve because if I stick to just one it doesn't do much of anything. so I take motrin 2x a day and aleve 1-2x a day. Tylenol 4x a day.
some really cool things to update on. after I created my thread I went and got a hot bath, then put on a lidoderm patch and a heat wrap. I went to bed with nearly NO pain!! yes I had to take unisom and then extra overnight but I got up this morning and the nerve pain was really bothering me so before I got out of bed I took aleve and tylenol and opened up the packets for my heat patchs so they could warm up (air activates them)
It's 1pm and I've been up since 5:30am. I haven't even taken flexeril today, only tylenol, aleve, and motrin!! I got up for the first time since before my injury with no narcotic meds in my system and cleaned my kitchen and then played with my boys....I took the heat patch off a few hrs ago and am still feeling pretty good. I think I'm just going to ask my dr to not bother refilling the medication and go from there. :) YAY! lol
Have you tried Motrin instead of Aleve? Aleve did nothing for me, but I found Motrin did actually help quite a bit. Also I found these Bayer's Crystals at the pharmacy that I take in addition to Motrin when I am really in pain...they seem to also really help. You may find like me that the pain really does lessen in a few weeks. I am at about 35 days or so and I'm definitely in less pain than when I was on Norco. Good luck!
thanks. I think that for the most part the rebound pain has resolved because that first couple days was hellish.
I hope that the doctor can get me approved for the MRI and then we move on w/spinal injections.
sounds like you are doing everthing you can your pain is going to seem worse then usal because your body wants itd fix with some more time it will lessen .Let us know what you doctor says about altrunatives . Congrats on you rfirst week
