5 days and counting

I am not seeking support, just let those who are ct, it will be worth it. I have RA and have been on on type of pain meds or another for 5 yrs. I ran out of my Narco and found myself taking my wifes pain meds. Well tha was the straw that broke the camels back. I have been ct for 5 days none and it has been tough. I am a strong oerson, former USMC, coach 0f 30 years ( wrestling and football,) and competed in sports for 20 years, and I will tell you all this is by far the hardest thing I have ever did. A little Jim Beam has helped me out a lot. I still feel like I have beaten up, but I sleeping pretty good, except for the night sweats that come at about 4am and the 15 pound weight loss. I have a wounderful wife and to sons. I am getting ready to take by HS wrestling team into state competion and I will not let them down. Believe me I have been a drugger  it seem for ever, pot, coke, booze ect, child of the 60s. Never had a problem putting all that down, but this stuff is a *****. Pain Doctors what a joke, I would like to say they turned me into a junkie, but I did to my self. Stay strong fellow junkies and Semper Fi

Congradulations on day 5!!!!!  Trust me, day 6 and 7 will be better.  I cannot tell you about day 8 because that will be tomorrow for me.

I have RA as well and got addicted to pain pills for the same reason as you.  I am looking for alternative ways to manage the pain.  My pain is light to moderate at times.  Are you looking for alternatives as well?

Your story does remind me how HAPPY I am to be on the recovery side of the pain pill madness and how I never want to have to go through the w/d thing again.  Thanks for sharing - I needed it today!
