usually people who post start feeling methadone withdrawal at day 3 without...have seen it on day 4...i am sure it also depends on how much and how long they take it....methadone in small doses like 10-20 mg a day can take quite a while to get physically addicted as many chronic pain patients that i work with as a nurse use it and have no problem quitting...or going without it...if not used for long term that is, but have seen a patient on 20 mg a day after 2 years and had no withdrawal...but everyone is different and the person was not an addict so did not abuse...hopefully at day 4 maybe u will be ok...just stay positive...how much and how long did u use?
Methadone has a slow metabolism and very high fat solubility, making it longer lasting than morphine-based drugs. Methadone has a typical elimination half-life of 15 to 60 hours with an average of i would say about 22. However, metabolism rates vary greatly between individuals, up to a factor of 100 ranging from as few as 4 hours to as many as 130 hours, or even 190 hours. So it's hard to say.
