Do you know of a taper sched that works with Methadone / Hydros. Im out of my mdone, and have about 35 / 10 mg hydros. I want to wean off mdone (and hydros) altogether. Any ideas ? I heard on here of a weekend Bup doc, I have been considering "jumping off" with Bup, but locally its a real challenge (Atlanta, you wouldnt think so) to find a w/d bup doc that I could just call, see, pay and be done..... any ideas any one ?
hey dude im at 5 mg of the methadone i cut back from 7mg on sat and still ant sleeping well but at least today I dont feel like total shi# on sat and sun om not shure if i picked up a bug or was getting stomach cramps from the withdrawal ...myself im going to go
down to 1 mg b/4 jumping my jump off date is 1 month from yesterday (planed it with my consular) ive been using a step down formula of 10% every 72 hr ...it was givin to
me by a neonatal nurse who brings babys off heroin ....it works most of the time but
some times i need a week to adjust to the dose change mabe you should try it
best of luck to ya ill keep watching your post in here .....Gnarly
well, I decided to keep weening... largely to stay away from the vicodin... I was on that for 2 years and have been off about a month... taking even a little bit of methadone seems to keep me away from my doc... I just don't want to get physically hooked bad on the methadone...
I've abused EVERYTHING in my life but this methadone I seem to be able to keep at bay...
You know your body the best, so really go with your gut. I was taking 2-3 10mg methadone for over a year and decided to quit cold turkey. At the time it was still summer, so all 3 of my kids were at home with me. It was not easy, but worth it. I laid in bed 1 day and then forced myself to do the best I could. Honestly, I felt better getting up out of the bed and doing small things. After about 3-4 days, I was starting to get most of my energy back. The physical symptoms lasted much shorter of a time than I thought they would. If you put your mind to it, you can do it. Good luck to you.
