docs that prescribe methadone for pain are flat out misinformed about the drug.I imagine the fact that it does not harm the internal organs, may be one of the reasons why the prescribe it.
the reason it is working is it stays in the body for long periods of time inbetween dosings. it can last 36-48 hrs for some. another reason why it has so many have over dosed on it. they keep taking it some times 2-3 times a day, in large doses, then after time the body is loaded with it.
I know a little bit about injury, and yes pain management is required for many. but you best watch what you are doing, because 'done use comes with a heavy price later, just like morphine and heroin eventually catches up to people
I posted a thread about the GAO methadone study and even the govt is shaking their heads as to why docs would prescribe such a strong opioid for pain. ofcourse we have heard stories of docs prescribing 300 oxys????????? or keeping people on high doses of sub,for the weakest reasons. lots of stories out there,nowadays.............
Hey thanks for your post,
Well your situation is tough, Are you taking them for the pain? or just to feel good?
taking them every 3 days I dont think is an "addiction" BUT it can lead there, it all deoends on you. I started taking mine for pain, and still have pain but I kept going up each day with the dose and up and up to "feel good and enjoy my family" its a pretty scarry feeling.
If you feel you "need" to take them to enjoy the family well yes,. if you take one every 3 days because you have serious pain and helps you do more with family, maybe not just be carefull with them..my only advice there evill and can tell you you need more..
Hi good to see ya post,I can relate to your story, I was in pain management for yrs
although your pain seams more sever than mine I suffer with disk issues in my back
I was on pain pills for 10+ yrs till they quit working they gave me a choice try oxycotin
or methadone, i researched the oxy, and heard horror story's about it so i chose the methadone....WHAT A MISTAKE....I went from 40 mg and no pain to 150 mg in pain
over a 6 yr time frame..you build up a tolerance to methadone and will need to take
more and more to kill your pain..(at least that was my experience) .Dude you are
dancing with the devil messing with methadone...she is evil and eventually get a hold
of you..and let me tell you, it ant no fun being a methadone addict...ive been tapering
off for 8 mo and it has been difficult at best, sometimes it seams impossible but im down to 3mg and struggling with that ,so dude get off it wile your able to and dont
mess with a pill here or there it has a 36 hr 1/2 life so every other day or three days will still get you addicted ...hope this post helps and good luck getting off ...Gnarly
the methadone has built your tolerance to the point that other opaites are not going to work anylonger, i whould say. If you are addicted you are the one that knows that, i whould say at the least you are dependent
