Anyone Out There Come off Fentanyl

I am freaking dying here folks.  There is this freaking BURNING along my spine.  I can't fking take it!  I want a vicodin for the first time.  Last night, only got 4 hours sleep.  Have some burning in the stomach still.  I have been working out, taking it slow on that tho.  Now today I couldn't go out.  It's too cold and too much work.  Took a hot shower, that lasted a whole 10 mins now it's all back again.  Taking Tylenol every 6 hours, that doesn't help at all.  Using cold and hot pads.  I'm going nuts.  It seems like for 1 step forward I take 2 steps back.  I really want to know what I can realistically expect here. I'm tired of it being a crap shoot....

Well, I've been off them for 2 weeks now.  Please tell me how long it took for you to feel better.  What vitamins if any helped.  Anything you can tell me about what the future holds.  I'm grasping at straws here.  I don't want to ask my husband where I had him hide the vicodins.  This is just horrible.  My stomach is back to burning and I have a constant hot achy feeling along my spine.  I'm going out of my freaking mind.  The Dr. that put me on the patch is NO HELP.  I have called and he doesn't call back.  My general MD didn't put me on these and we never talked about them because I never told her about being on them....  I'm wondering what if anything she cld do for me at this point...?

Coming off the fentanyl patches. I have so much compassion for you. Is there any chance your doc would help you?? My family doc helped so much. She never cut my dose until I felt comfortable. Of course, she couldn't have done that forever. lol You have probably googled fentanyl and it tells it's own hellish story. 80-100 times stronger than morphine. I hate to think of another person being stuck on those things. I have herard of Ultram being giving to help, but that's just another addiction. I couldn't sleep but I paced the floor a lot. All I wanted to eat was chocolate and to drink, just diet coke. We'll get through this. When summer comes you'll be more than ready to enjoy it.

Hi LadySundown!!!!  Soooo glad they found you!!!  I have spent alot of time reading your old posts.  Doesn't seem to be alot of people on here that can relate to the fentanyl patch.  How are you doing?

Actually, I'm afraid that is not my dose and I never received a message from you....  Wonder who it cld of been.  Anyhow, I was taking the patch for 2 years, started off at 25, then worked to 50 then 75 for awhile then came down in the fall from 75 down to 50 for 4 months, then switched me down to 25 plus 12 mcg on Dec 30 2009. I was having w/d symptoms. My Dr said I wasn't though.  He is absolutely NO HELP!!  So, I am going through this blind now.  Took the patch off 1/20/10 and was using vicodin for breakthrough pain, it helped with the burning stomach and RLS.  I have been off that since Fri morning.  So, it has been hell in a handbasket.  It seems that I will get better then back to being sick.  This past weekend was by far the worst.  For 3 days liquid was coming out....

Any insight you can give me would be MUCH MUCH appreciated!!!

Medhelp worked yesterday and most of the night, then again today to get my old user name back. I posted to you once. If I remember it had been day 11 for you. You were on 250 fentanyl patches and vic's when you started to detox?? That's one heck of a hight dose of fentanyl. You changed them every 48 hrs instead of 72??

I know you're going through a real rough time.I'm not even sure if you should be doing this alone. I think I mentioned to you that I told my family doc and enlistened her help. She w/d me very slowly. That made a big difference.

If there is anything I can do please let me know. I won't be gone long. Just have to fix dinner.

Have you tried any otc's(I guess Tylenol you said)...Try Motrin 800mg 3x per day along with some Benadryl.   This will pass but you may cave if you have Vics in the house.  I would(and have) flush the pills you have left.    Take the vitamins and keep taking hot baths...

I am day 14 no fentanyl and day 6 no vicodins.  This is something I felt in the first week, then it eased up ALOT.  Now... it's a burning hell.  I am sooo miserable.
