Anyone tried melatonin and/pr calms forte

Hello,

I had a very rough night--no sleep!! Day 11 of  CT.

I bought some herbal remedies, melatonin & calm forte. Anyone try these things? Do they really work or should I give up and try something stronger. DON'T want to get on valium as I have been down that road before.

The benadryl makes me a bit crazy and groggy in the morning so that is my last resort. HELP!

I can take all the other stuff with going CT but I really really need some sleep to be functional.

Everyone is different as far as not sleeping and what works.  Melatonin seems to work for me.   Take it about an hour before you go to bed.

I'm day 22 I think. I have found what works one night may not the next, but be ok again the third night. Kinda crazy.

Melatonin helps me some nights. Valerian Root helps others. Not sure what's in Calm Forte.
Some nights I take half whatever I'm using.. Say valerian root at bedtime, and use the other half three hours later when I wake. I have managed 6-10 hours this way. But I must think calmly when I wake, personally I picture the beach in my mind, even feel the heat of the sun. If I allow reality in, it takes awhile to go back to sleep.

Good luck with these.

I take Alteril and a Valerian Root to get to sleep. Alteril contains Valerian and Melatonin. I use Calms Forte when I wake up at 3-4am, although I first try to get back to sleep without it. I have a back condition so I always take 2 fast acting Tylenol. I'd say half the time just the Tylenol alone works well.

I believe that if I'm using anything that relaxes me, like Valerian, it's all going to my GABA Receptors. I want to get away from that.  My goal is to sleep completely sleep-aid free some day. But I've only been clean 106 days and right now I'm in no hurry to mess with the good sleep I'm finally getting!

I used Benadryl (Unisom) for a bit but the last few nights Melatonin has worked better. It feels like a more natural sleep, and I guess it's good for us in general. I guess whatever works, within reason!

Hi!

Today is day 13. I still have some lingering WDs (sensitive!) For 2-3 nights I had a horrid time getting sleep until last night. The acupuncturist gave me some Chinese herbs and they seem to do the trick. It looks like a pile of tree bark which you boil for 30 min. Weird but I was SOOO desperate for sleep.

I feel a lot better today. Not totally myself but I was able to go for a walk 40 min and do some work this morning. Progress for sure. Plus the acupuncture is making the pain better.

Thanks all, just wanted to check in!
