At the finish line...

I've posted before and this forum has helped me so much.  Thanks.
My health history has had it to be necessary to be on variations of oxycodone for 2 years now.  Dec 21 i stopped cold turkey.  About 8 days of SUCK, then i get suckered into using suboxone on day 13.  I took about (1/3 8mg and i felt fantastic all day!  I had a total of 4 8mg suboxones.  I used a piece each day on and off into mid january.  Every day completely opiate free was exciting.  I would still wake up with headaches, minor w/d symptoms, but it was just about manageable.  Every day since then the w/d yawning and tearing etc gets worse and worse.  It now feels like day 4 all over again.  A local med student suggested that the suboxone was so low in intake that i was free and clear,  guess that's wrong.  Suboxone w/d is much easier then oxycontin w/d.

I'm just about TOTALLY clean, it's been 17 days, w/d hurt every day, i know i may have to wait 6 weeks, but will i always be achy and i am going to have to get used to daily discomfort, or does it even get close to be able to have more good days then bad?  I've been working so long and hard to get narcotics out of my life, it's hard to stay motivated!  Peace.

18 mos ago i was on dialysis and heart surgery and chemo, so i was taking over 160mg oxycontin every day.  12 mos ago i wanted to get 'cleaner' so i tapered low so i could step down to percocets.  I've felt the effects of w/d on those three, and the pain comparison is something like this IMO:
Oxycontin > Percocet > Suboxone

And thanks for the words.  It helps.

did you mean to say oxy withdrawal is easier than suboxone ?  Just got a little confused reading your post.

Things do come back so slowley.  Please be patient with yourself.  Lack of energy and motivation being the last to return. Just keep going , little by little you will get better.  We have done so much damge , it takes time to heal.  Hang in there and keep going forward.
