Been clean for  a year on May 15 , 2011 what you need to do is get help I  had trouble asking myself but eventually asked for it .My life is 10x better now then it was almost a year ago ,you need to detox professionally it does work I was on 120 to 160 mg a day of Oxycontin for about 7 to 8 years And there is programs if you don't have insurance I have 3 young girls a great job that I always had and they worked with me .It was better going to rehab for a few days then losing everything At least go to a narcotic anonymous meeting there everywhere they'll show you the way .I didn't think I could ever do it,I haven't been on this sight since I got clean but I can tell you what I never posted but read probably every old post on here by likes of Flaadict (forget actual name )but was close to this There is a lot of great stuff on here to help for time being but the only thing that helped me personally was asking for HELP .I can honestly say I would go on this sight when I didn't have anything (Jone sing) or when I just wanted to stop while I was high and look at or shall I say to see if other people were going through what I was going through Good luck to all and remember don't be ashamed to ask for help,

I also take oxy 100-150 mg a day. I am currently weaning down , little by little. I got the crap scare out of me when I read about what damage it cld do to ur liver and when my bloodwork came back elevated, I decided it was now. I actually confessed to my mom and she was scared but very understanding. I decoded to giver her ziplock bags labeled daily that she will give me. Then I have NO choice but to only take that amount. I am weaning slowly because I have run out and had WD for a day and it *****!!! I was taking 10-15 a day and now for a few days have been 9-12 a day. It's not easy but I want to live and stop having this run my life. I actually felt better when I confessed to my mom. I also started talking to a therapist. I bet ur school has someone u cld talk to. Peer counselor / guide ce counselor/school therapist. I wish us both luck

60mg a day and opiates for 2 years could yield a somewhat uncomfortable WD.  It could also be a whole lot worse.  I was up to 200-240 mg oxy per day.  My WD would start about 6 hours after last pill.  If you don't get your arms around this now, you will wind up like me, or a whole lot worse!  Friend of mine was up to 600mg per day!  I didn't believe him until he showed me a couple things and explained some things.  He had to be hospitalized to detox because the amount he was taking and the fact WD hit him way harder than most people.  Put him on the floor in massive pain.  You shouldn't be anywhere near that but I don't want to minimize what you are feeling because I know it is very real and very scary to you.  Listen to everyone here, get out now!  You learned a grown-up lesson at a teen-agers age.  It really may be time to talk with your parents.  You know better then us if this is a viable option.  I know that sometimes parents are the very reason young people use!  If they are typical parents, I'm sure they will be angry, sad, scared but will want you to get better.

Well for 17 you are very smart, it will get worse if you don't stop. I don't personally know anyone that started using less especially when it wasn't perscribed. Do you feel like you can talk with your mom or dad or maybe an older sibling, aunt, uncle? Someone to help support you? How many do you take on an average day? You can try to taper but it is really hard once the addictive traits start. I assume you are in school? If you would just stop cold turkey, call your supplier and tell them you are deleting their number from your phone and please don't answer your calls or text messages. Start there, you will feel a sense of freedom and that willl change to fear but stick with it. Grab some immodium, tylenol or advil, multi vitamins and get ready for the flu for several days. It is not as bad as it sounds but it does stink. It is doable though and after a few days you will feel the fog lifting, things will seem clearer. Flowers are prettier, music sounds better. Everything comes back into focus and we meet our old selves again. Stay around here when you need support. Post everytime you feel bad or good. We are all here for you. You are so young and there is so much life in front of you, make this change now and don't waste anymore time living life to the fullest. You will be in my thoughts and I hope to see you here more.

They're not prescribed and I've been taking them for about 2 years. I'm only 17 and this addiction scares me because I know it's only going to get worse if I don't stop.

We aren't suppose to give taper schedules but if you think you can ween I personally would just cut down as I could being comfortable until I got to the point I could jump. I tried a taper and it was a joke, I couldn't do it. It the pills were at my disposal I consumed them as I normally did so I had to do a CT. Read around the forum and you will hear from others that are in the early stagess of withdrawl and others further out to see what to expect. It is different for all of us but generally you will feel like you have a bad flu for at least 4 day and then it gets better. Mental cravings seem to be harder to overcome than the physical ones for most of us. Maybe if you can give us a little more info like how long you have taken them, are they prescribed, and why you take them you will get a little more feedback / response. Good luck and welcome to the community, you will love it here!
