Caffeine addiction?

Whenever I drink Dr Pepper, I get these goosebumps and a calmness spreads through me just like when you drink something hot on a cold day and you can feel it spread through your body. When I get stressed, I drink a Dr Pepper and I feel calm and relaxed. Why does it make me feel so good and calm?

It was kind of concerning because I've always heard of caffeine addictions as bad and since dr pepper has a lot of caffeine, I figured it was bad! I do have at least one dr pepper everyday and sometimes I don't have one and it kind of ***** because I don't feel my best, but it seems that if a lot if people have a caffeine addiction, then it's not as bad as I thought for me!

I feel the same way when I eat York Peppermint Patties... I guess it's the dark chocolate and mint.  Calms me right down, and settles my anxious stomach.  I agree with Lulu above.

I have no idea.  Dr.Pepper makes me feel like jumping out of my skin(:
We all have things in life that give us pleasure and this is ok.  Caffeine addiction is shared by 99% of the world's population I am sure.  If you are not abusing it (drinking it constantly) or having adverse health effects (which you absolutely can as it is VERY high in sugar and caffeine)  Then enjoy in moderation.
Personally, I'm addicted to natural ginger ale.  It makes my tummy calm and gives me a boost at 3 pm when I need one.  I drink one almost every day.

So only you can answer whether you think it's a problem for you or not.  If you are posting on a substance abuse forum I am surmising you are concerned.  What is your main worry here?
