Can continous withdrawals hurt your heart/body

I take percocet and morphine for pain. I was on my way to getting off but then took them for a bad pain day and that's all she wrote. My pain is getting better and there are less days of severe pain but now I am totally addicted.

I have two doctors. It was just going to be for one month until I could withdrawal myself off and now it's been two months and I will probably fill another script for a thrid month. This second doctor actually charges $15.00 cash only for writing a monthly script, plus I pay cash for the second script. This is not how I want to live. They are in two different states that don't (so far) check out of state. The second spript is for morphine and is very good to taper with.

Now my tolerance may be too high to get pain relief from just the 40mg percocet script. I HAVE to take opiates now to stay out of withdrawals or for pain. I'm getting much stronger now though and can handle the pain better than before, hopefully. Also, my pain tolerance might be lower now because of the opiates.

I am so mad at myself because last night I took 70mg percocet and 90mg morphine, I had a bad day but I didn't need anywhere near THAT much. I'm letting myself go into withdrawals right now to try and get some of the drug out of my system and my gutt is in very bad shape (if you know what I mean).

I have gone into withdrawls before, lasted 2 to 3 days, but thought it was too hard on my sick body and decided to take some to help and almost everytime I was unable to stop taking more. As you all may know opiates wds are very hard on the body and I was wondering if it can cause any damage to the heart or other organs after repeated times. Sometimes my chest gets a little tight, this could be nothing, I just don't know if cold turkey is a safe thing to do.

Any advise would be appreciated.

your playing a VERY DANGEROUS game getting 2 controled scripts from 2 different Dr.'s.  Its called Dr.shopping and its a felony.  It dosnt matter how many states you go to.
Just an FYI-

I didn't have to get myself off Morphine just Hydrocodone.  But I was taking A LOT.  I think the feeling you are having in your chest is the anxeity from the WD.  YOu have to be really ready to quit.  I couldn't taper even with the help of my husband.  I made up every excuse in the book for him to give me more and more.  So it was CT for me.  I tried CT many time and could never make it more than 2 days.  You just have to tell yourself that you are better than this demon and that you can do it.  It's not going to be sunshine and rainbows but you can do it.  Just keep posting and the wonderful people on here are a ton of help.  I believe the 2 most important things are the drive to quit and a great support system which I think you ahve found both.  Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Much love~Mom of M&M
