Clean for 5 Months but I am scheduled for surgery

Hi...

46 y/o male who had a perc problem for 4 years due to another injury.  I found this forum after I had quit for around 2 months (just kinda popping in and out) and have been clean for almost 5 months.  I'll be having nose surgery in 6 weeks and was going to try and stick with motrin afterwards.  I execise regularly and take aminos, etc and hoping I can avoid the narcs.  I plan on being upfront with my physician about this as well.

Frankly...the access to legitimate pain meds for legit reasons scare the h3ck out of me....

Appreciate anyones comments who have been in this position before.

Guy

My sub dr. spoke to me about this very thing.  He said if i had to have surgery or broke a bone (Lord forbid) i would have to take narcotic pain meds, but only for a short time.
He said my hubby could give them to me as prescribed and for a few days use, it would not be a problem.  Hope all goes well for you.  You are doing great, 5 mos. woohoo  TJ

HI F-Guy, I am also having sergury on june 4th,i am on methadone at present for pain control, also i have percocets.I dont abuse the perks because they dont provide any form of a eurphoric affect. The methadone blocks the eurphoria. In your case i dont think using as prescribed, for a week or so is detrimental.john
