I read some where exercise releases same endorphins as morphine , ive been doing my elipitical every time I'm down or even antsy...albeit 5-10min. at a time...it has helped...im on day 12...today I choose not to use.
Hi Happyturtle. Congrats on day 7...pretty soon you will start losing track of the days, and that is a very liberating feeling!! If you feel you need an anti-depressant, talk to your doctor, but one thing I know is that the pills did not make your life "fun," you make your life fun. I was very very grateful at day 7 to be able to go to work. It kept my mind very very busy, which made time go by faster, and pretty soon, I was 30 days clean and felt great! You will be amazed by the amount of energy that you will have. The pills make you think you have energy, but there is nothing like that natural energy that comes from having a happy body, and removing the pills from your life will make your body happy! Glad you are cleaning and shopping, it is much better to be busy and be POSITIVE than to sit and feel sorry for yourself and just let the withdrawals get the worst of you. Your attitude about your decision will aid alot in your detox/recovery. I am 77 days clean (I had to look at my ticker to know that), and I still get bouts of low energy and depression, but all in all, life is so much better! Good luck to you, hang in there, it will all get better!
Congrats on one week clean!! There are no remedies to speed up the process, just time. Are you involved in any sort of aftercare? That fun you speak of is a deadly game. Give yourself some time to heal your body and mind and you will be surprised at what real fun actually is!
