Congrats on day 3! You are almost through the worst of the physical WD's. Like somebody else said, another day or 2 and you should start to feel a little better each day, Keep pushing forward...onward and upward!
This is my first attempt to get off these norcos. It is the hardest thing I have ever done, so much going on and no experience on what it all is. I can't believe the hold a pill can have on you and your mind..There is a na building real close to me and I will go and see what that is all about..Im learning with all your help. Thank you so much
What kind of after care should I have ? I have never done this before, thanks
90 for 90....go to a meeting everyday for 90 days...aa na or whatever recovery meetings that are availbe...
congratulations getting this far!!! Im so proud of you.....is this your first attempt?? It doesnt really matter....im just curious....you got this...sobriety looks so good on you.....
Thank you, I really mean it. this is hard. I have what i think are cravings. I feel it in my chest and belly, hard to explain??
The rehab could still be good because hey- the more support the better. Getting through the initial detox is the easy part (sorry to say) Having a solid recovery plan in place is REALLY important and not having one is why a lot of people are not successful at staying clean. In rehab they can give you tools and support. You deserve support.. No one does it alone.
Congrats on your clean time- hold it sacred and keep moving forward one moment at a time.
Sending my support-
Lu
Thanks it is nice to read the posts from people who have done this. What is a 90/90 meeting? I got through a another night, about 4 hrs sleep. not bad..,12 noon today will be a 4 days cold turkey. They have a detox bed waiting for me this Thursday at a local rehab but why should I go. i will be on day 6 without any norco by then . what's your thoughts
You are almost there as others have said. Congradulations. That is not easy to do. If you were strong enough to get to this point, you can see it through.
The things that helped me were 1) watching movies (so you don't watch the clock :) Comedies were best but I got more engrossed in dramas
2) taking my dogs outside and just sitting with them for awhile when my head was going crazy
3) hot showers and baths like everyone else said. The baths with Epsom salt can really relax the twitches. 4) take it easy on yourself (I stocked my fridge with stuff I liked and told others I had the flu. Don't push yourself to do anything more than get through the day without using 5) When you feel better -- maybe day 4 or 5 - at least write out a plan for yourself that you think will work. If its aftercare, great, if its the 90/90 meetings, then great. Even if its just journaling every day and coming on this website -- its a start. Once the wdls subside you can get more specific but it helps to have something to look forward too.
I hope this helps
Congrats on your 3 days,
Try a hot bath/shower, as hot as you can stand it, and as long as the hot water lasts.
Wrap your legs with ace bandages and go to bed and get as much sleep as you can.
You'll be ok. Another day or 2 and you will feel better.
Do you have any aftercare lined up?
Lower legs hurt and feel like there burning a little
Congrats on day three! Your almost there. Hot baths and staying busy helps alot. hang in there.
Hang in there! You will be feeling better in no time! Great job on 3 days that is really awesome! IMODIUM for the (lower issues) and lotsa fluids! Stay hydrated!! No turning back!! Your breakthrough is right around the corner...
Congratulations on day 3 : )
Going to hit the couch and watch a good show until I crash and get some sleep
