Worried

My sister-in-law has been taking lortabs for 3 years now. She only takes the 5mg but she takes 3-4 a day.. She was only taking .5 a pill when she was pregnant with my neice.  Now she is 5 months pregnant with her second child and I'm worried about the effects they will have on the new baby and her. Does anyone know? How can i get her to see her problem?

Yes they give you tons of energy.

About the headaches.  When you take pain medication for a while, you start to feel more pain than what you actually have, so you continue to take, and continue to need more over time.  It's a sick cycle.

I was on the same when I was pregnant and only took as last resort. I just stayed in bed and took baths to get through it. They did a CSection early to help with the pain and no more children for me it was to difficult. My daughter was fine. They checked her over real good at the time of delv. I wasnt taking that much tho. I think she needs to see all that can be done to her baby and that may help her deal with it more. If did for me. Why is she taking them?

for the sake of her baby, she should be upfront with her doctor and tell him whats going on and ask what to do.  She probably should start tapering off, but it would be best to be under a doctors advice.   it may be too late and I think withdrawls could also be bad for the baby and its system may be too delicate to go thru withdrawls.  Definately be HONEST with the doctor.
