Day 15!

Last night the rls kicked in about 11:00 it was pretty rough but I was finally able to fall asleep at 1:00. I slept 6 straight hours for the first time since quitting. It was pretty nice. Hopefully it just keeps getting better. I hate restless legs. That is pretty much my only major problem here on day 15, but I'll take it in stride. Everyone have a good day and stay strong. I didn't think I was ever gonna feel right again but I am definately starting to. Thanks to everyone on the boards, these helped alot so far. I think I'll be sticking around these forums for a long time. Thanks again..

Yea, it's weird. Most medicine doesn't sit well with me. I always seem to get some of the side effects. Hydrocodone and oxycodone were the only meds that didn't effect me negatively(physically that is).

After I wrote that I started thinking about that last statement.. They did have negative effects on me..sex drive, staying up to late, dependency, etc..

Anyway, I'm just sitting here, rambling on while my legs are still jittery on day 15.. WTF , when will it end? Have a good night , to all..

Well, I have exactly the same reaction to antihistamines, but for some reason Nyquil didn't do it because of the other ingredient.  You're probably right to play it safe.  During WD, things like benadryl always made my RLS so much worse.  I had to be really careful what I took!

You're doing really good!

I tried the hylands stuff. No help... Nyquil and antihistamines have a complete opposite effect on me. They will make me tired but wired at the same time. I think I'm almost there, it's just kind of up to my body to start producing normal levels of dopamine and just get balanced again. I hope. Last night was decent like I said , hopefully I just see a little improvement every night. Thanks for the support, it means alot..

I'd say try something like Hyland's Restful Legs or the Cal/Mag/Zinc supplement from wal mart at night.  Also, a dose of Nyquil may help at night with the RLS.  I have seen LOTS of people get help with the Nyquil.  I would say it should be letting up any time now.  Usually the first two weeks are the worst for the RLS.

Congrats on your clean time!  That's GREAT!

Thanks alot. I'm loving the Epsom salt baths. They only seem to work for a couple hours but they are still very relaxing. I just wish I had a nice big jacuzzi type bath tub instead of my old school regular tub. So you do think the rls will just go away over time? How long do you think it could take? Worst case scenario..I know everyone is different but this is my first time going through this and I had no idea what to expect with wds until I started reading up on it this last month or so. I hated wds so much, I hope I'm strong enough to never have to do it again. I quit on my own power, nobody in my family knew I was doing this(they do now). I had a new script waiting for me too so I feel pretty good about my will power. I just need to make sure I don't feel like I can dabble again once I feel 100%. people just need to remember, etch it in your brain what wds feel like and keep reading these boards when u have an urge. Reading peoples posts thT are in early stages helps u remember those feelings. Everyone try to have a good day..
