Day 2 - Dr Appt Today

Today is Day 2 off of everything but Day 9 off of my DOC - Vicodin 5/325.  After being off for 5 days, I took half a Tramadol for 4 days (which I am not recommending that anyone else do).   I was desperate because I was using alcohol on Days 3 - 5 and I had to find something so I wouldn't do that.

I am not having any symptoms yet which I am happy about my also worried that the symptoms are going to hit me out of the blue and catch me off-guard.

The doctor gave me Clonidine for anxiety.  I haven't even thought of alcohol.  Knowing that I have Clonidine has eased my mind and reduced my anxiety significantly.

I still made Hamburger Helper for dinner though  :)  I needed a break after Saturday.

Does anyone think (I know it is hard to predict) that I will get some symptoms soon?

I'm so happy to hear this update Ann!! Good for you and your 2 (well now 3) big days!! I don't think you'll experience anymore physical w/ds but the mental part will rear it's ugly head for the next couple of weeks (nothing that you won't be able to handle and definitely nothing like in the beginning)! You are doing great and you've been so helpful to so many others around here. Congrats to you and your clean time! Hold it sacred!

No, that wouldn't be a source, but something you'd have to stay vigilant about.  If you would ever feel tempted, just keep yourself away from the situation...at least while you're still vulnerable.

You're doing great!

I don't have any sources except for maybe if I wanted to drive 2 hours to someone's house.  I hate driving and wouldn't even do that for pills.  Never have.

The only other source I can think of is somewhere that would have to offer opportunity and it would be a huge risk to steal them from someone.  Is that considered a source?  (Meaning, I know someone that has them but would never, ever give them to me).

The clonidine will help just as much, if not more than the trams did.  You were taking such a small amount that it really wasn't doing anything except the mental pill substitution.

You have made great progress, realizing that you cannot medicate away w/ds with more substances that are only going to make you feel worse, or cause more problems for you.  Good job!

Did you eliminate all of your sources?  No access to anything else?

Keep on trucking!!

Ann, you are doing great.   Hopefully your symptoms will be pretty mild; since it has been 9 days off the vicodin.  I'd think you will have only minimal w/d from the tramadol (if any), given the short time & small doses you took.  It's great that you got the Clonidine to take if you need it.  You are going to do just fine.   Hang in there & just push through.   Every minute of the discomfort is worth it.  A clean and drug free life awaits; you can do this :))

Hi Ann..As you know we can not tell and You have been here before. I sure pray you can fly right through it. As you know too, the physical is over soon but it is the Metal part that is a bi*ch. I think you are doing a Very Good Job so far..Yahooooooo!!!!!
You know when I finally broke down after 22 days of Anxiety on the Moon and no sleep, I finally took the Clonidine at night only and they gave me Buspar for the day and evening. Ya! Good old Buspar, it is like a sugar pill but it did help after 3 months..Keep on doing whatever you have been and it will all get better in Time..(As you already know) Just make sure you set yourself up better so you will not fall down again..Och!!
Bless

Hi Anne, The trams are keeping your w/d symptoms at bay, but at the amount your taking, youv'e basically weaned quite a bit. The alcohol will only add anxiety and lower your energy. I know it's so dang hard for us addicts to not replace one pill for another, but the sooner you clean your system out, the quicker you'll feel normal. There is always a certain amount of discomfort in detox. Just know it is sooooooo worth the effort. Treat the symptoms as natural as you can. You will get loads of tips here. You can do this, many have before you and many will follow after you. None of us can do this forever and have a quality of life.

I think you will be fine because you already had days in and only took a half tram per day .You just keep not taking anything and I doubt that there will be a new wave of symptoms, only the continuation of existing ones and you should start feeling better . Just hang in there and do not use any more addictive substances. Keep going friend  ;)
