Day 2 on SUB, Went To See The Dr....

I can not believe this ****!! I just typed this hole big thought on what was happing to me. And the site frozz up!! I hate that, Lost it all.. Here I go again. I was saying I had 3 shots of suboxone yesterday, and then 3, 2mgs pills over the course of the day. Then 2, 2mgs this a.m. I was feeling fine. No w/d's, No thoughts on drugging. I was have some headaches. So this morning the Dr changed me to the Subutex. I took 4mgs at 10:30. I can still take it 3 more times today. I am feeling differnt with the Subutex.. Kind of dissy.. Head spinning thing. But, I am also feeling, or thinking abot the drugs, Is this Normal?? Why today? Maybe because I had so much perc's in me yesterday, And none today. I do not really want to take any pills. But the thoughts are there. Do any of you know what the heck I am talking about here. Cuz, I am having a hard time with it my self. Go From feeling fine, to maybe you want to take some drugs!!! I do not understand it... Maybe I should call the Dr, Heck for what thses pills cost, I  would think I was feeling better than this.. You know.. Maybe it is the Subutex?? I can not believe there is that much difference.. But I am no Dr...
Anyone out there know whats going on with me here?? I sure would like to know???

  Thanks,
   Lady

I don't have experience with either sub....just wanted to tell you 2 things.... #1 I am proud of you for doing this....I know you will make it! #2 (this is a silly) but I will type an entire response or PM or email to someone and my toddler walks up and hits some key on here and DELETES everything I typed.... so I feel your pain from earlier!

Keep up the good work girl!

The 'wanting to use' or even thinking about using is a normal part of addiction and recovery.  Talking about it is exactly what you should be doing.  As long as you don't pick up and use.  It will get easier over time but, for me anyway, thinking that i will never have an idea or thought about using is not going to happen.  I am an addict, and will always be one.  You are doing great, just keep it up, and keep talking about your thoughts.

This stuff is very tricky and you can have worse withdrawls than real narcotics? I would keep it as short as possible no matter what that doctor says.

becareful with Subutex...try and be on it a very short period of time...3 weeks...and have a good taper program at that time...i was only taking 2mg. once a day and then stopped cold turkey and had wds worse than the percs...and they lasted 2 weeks...i was not informed that i would have to taper and just wanted off...by the time i was told i should have tapered i was 7 days without and didnt want to start over...
the subutex made me feel dizzy and sick to my stomach if i took too much...
good luck to you!

The naloxone should have nothing to do with curbing your thoughts on taking pills. you're probably better off without it for the first day or two anyway. the naloxone is barely able to be absorbed under the tounge. the main reason they put it in there is to stop hardcore addicts from shooting it up. the cravings are only coming because it's your first day without pills, and possibly you're not taking enough subutex. i was using anywhere from 240 - 500 or so mgs of oxycodone a day and had to go as high as 16-24mgs of bup (the active ingredient in both subutex and suboxone) per day in order to curb things initially. that was about 2 weeks ago and i'm now down to about 8mgs of bup a day... just be realistic about your goal and don't overdo things and you should be good. =)  Good Luck!

I can not speak for the Subtex since I am on a maintenance program with Suboxone.  I was taking 3 - 80 mg of oxycontin a day and some days even more for 5 years.  When put on suboxone it very much helped with the widthdrawels, but when I first started I made sure I was in full blown widthdrawels.  The suboxone works its best then.  Since then I have been on 8 mg down now to 4 mg of suboxone.  You must remember that the suboxone and Subtex is only a tool and not the end all answer.  The suboxone has helped me with my cravings, but I have had to work on the mental aspect of this disease just as hard.  Being an addict for so many years, we cant expect our minds to all of a sudden just stop thinking in another way.  Our brains have been programed for our DOC as well as our daily routines, and it takes time and alot of work to overcome this.  The sub is a helper, but there is soo much more we must do for long term sobriety.  Stay the course and dont get down.  There is no quick fix for us addicts, because if there was we all would be rich.  I wish you the best of luck.

Well I found out the difference is Subutex has no Naloxone in it. So that is why I am feeling different on this one.. And could be why I have some feelings of wanting to get high.. I am going to press on here.. If I have to, I'll go back to the other, and deal with the headaches.. Maybe they will get better with time..

The detox is going fine, no w/d's at all.. It just I still feel like taken some perc's.. Yesterday I did not feel that way. But I did have 40mgs in the morning.. I thought this would help with that. You know the wanting to take the pills. give you a chance to start a different life.. One where your not always thinking about taking pills.. Guess I have to give it more time..

I think he may not be that familiar with detox and he sounds like he's more interested in fees. Ask him the tough questions and if he doesn't respond with good info. get rid of him. You are coming off oxycodone right? This may not be the best detox for you.
