In need of help for detox

I have had a very bad oxycodone problem off and on for 6 years, I was clean for almost a year and got back on them for about three months, and now trying to get off them again, I bought 3 10mg methadones and today I only took 2.5 mg I still have a half left and it's been 5 days, if I were to not take the other half how fast and bad are my withdrawals going to be

Hi and Welcome to our Community.

I would not mess with the Methadone. I too was prescribed hydo/oxys many yrs ago and only went up the latter to get the Methadone prescribed. That was the one that got me SO hooked that I was snorting it with another pill and taking another pill to come down. Be Safe..This one is a Big Beast to come off of.

Since you already had a Yr in, you gave your Brain and Body time to adjust back, after you removed these pills. It has only been 3 months on, so I do not think your w/ds should be that bad. Maybe a bit of anxiety and anxiousness, or some other small issues, but not as bad as your first w/d, I bet.

Now the BIG thing is..ask yourself WHY you went back on them. Maybe it is time to hit some aftercare for Support. I do not think you want to keep doing this Merry-Go-Round. It takes one addict to help another one. I wish you the best and Be Safe! Stick around here for Support too.

PS. Make sure you drink tons of fluids and mostly water. We have to stay hydrated. Pick up some good vit/min and eat Healthy. Got to keep that immune system up. Exercise, Music and the Sun will help stimulate those "Happy Chems". Keep us updated on how you are feeling..OK?
Bless

I would suggest not taking anymore at all.  I was addicted to opiates for years and got off them on this forum.  I was on them longer so maybe yours will be easier.  I figure it was like having a temp that doesn't go away for here or four days.  But it gets quite a bit better after day four.  Try to exercise a bit even if you don't want to, it helps to move.
