Day 3

Off opiates 48 hrs as of yesterday.  Klonopin for sleep.  I feel confident that I can continue with the exception that I have GAD, migraines, depression, no motivation to get out of bed.  Is this all about the opiates?

I did not read that I think I have to detox off of klonopin. You must be taking thy every day. As I said Benzo's are he'll to get of the sad fact is klonopin  is in the Benzo family. U can't detox off of both on your own. I would seek a detox center. JMO

Klonoplin (bad spelling) will help u and you won't have problems if u take it short term. I can't stress enough to encourage u to not lie in bed. Get up and take a walk, get a massage, drink a lot of water. I know you don't feel like it and I have been where you are at twice. Once for opiates and another for Xanax. Opiate withdrawal  was horrible but Benzo withdrawal was much worse and much longer. Stay away from long term Xanax use. If 4 short term u r fine but never abuse benzo's. I wanted to die and have to be admitted. If you can afford it go to a detox center and they can medically detox u and it won't be that bad. If you suffer from chronic pain and need pain relief look up Suboxone.

Depression, anxiety, over reacting, excessive drama - they are all normal during detox, and beyond. They all stop once your body and mind get healthy. However, after several week if the depression continues you should probably see a professional; and if you had depression issues prior to using then you definitely see someone.

Cry2006, Stay strong. You battled through hell and this will get easier. Try not to isolate yourself. I've got 97 days clean and I feel like The King Of The World. iMO getting in NA or AA has saved my life, my marriage and my sanity. Realize that addiction is not a weakness it is a disease no different than cancer. Maybe it's a choice in the very beginning but after u cross that line it is no longer a choice and u stop using to get high. You use to feel normal or at least to be able to operate. This disease changes the inner make up of your brain and your brain needs the drug to function. If your using with a friend you need to stay away from that bad influence. Stay strong.

I so look forward to being completely clean.  Today would be day 4 off of opiates only.  I will have to check my posts as they are my only status keepers.  Klonopin; I wonder if this pill is behind this massive depression.  Has either of you detoxed more then one thing at a time?  It's scarey to think about the seizure and respiratory depression associated with klonopin.  My BP is low but pulse is normal to high.  This could also be atrophy.  Geeze.....

Thank you so much for your support!  The information I get from this community is awesome.  I am day 4 and in the bed (as if I can sleep w/o med.  I am so depressed about this.  I do not want to leave the bed.  I read, post, watch a movie; I don't want to talk on the phone or anything.  My husband is forcing me to eat; love my man!  I have all of everyones symptoms but you all are working, exercising, living (even if just a little).  This problem is what prompted me to stop the pain pills.  This is not living.......

Will this depression lift after detox?  How long before I want to get up and live again.  I do go to appointments, only because I am forced by loving husband.  He will take me anywhere I want just to get me up but I feel awful!

After detox off pain pills, would love to detox off Klonopin.  Heard it will be more difficult than this.  I find that hard to believe right now.

Hi Crybaby.. Many of us deal with emotional disorders physical ailments.. Once we cross over into addiction if needed you would be able to treat for pain with opiates but you need a plan in place and it really needs to be a last alternative. It is difficult but possible to be in recovery while using opiates I guess is what I'm trying to say but most find that once off the opiates for awhile their pain is improved our there physical pain is no match for the spiritual pain while active.. Depression is tough but it also can be managed with meds but a plan again needs to be put in place with someone you trust doling out your meds on a daily bases and believe me even this is hard for some addicts and they need to be given 1 at a time when needed.. This takes a lot of responsibility for the person doling them out.. Some Depression can be managed also with diet and exercise, as addicts usually we are looking for the good drugs so we bypass many suggestions to deal with pain physical and mental. this also holds true for sleep techniques we can use but all this takes time learning and patience and addicts are no known for these attributes. It is all in how we approach our recovery. Our brain is very Powerful so we need to respect this.. I do not know if this will sound like rambling too you but these are my thoughts on your post. I wish you the very best and Congrats on reclaiming your life.. lesa

Congratulations on day 3!! What u describe is about what I went through the first 3 to 4 days of detox. Common side effects of Klonopin include sedation, dizziness, weakness, unsteadiness, depression, loss of orientation, headache, and sleep disturbances. So you might be adding some of that on top of your WD symptoms, I'm not sure. I have a bad back and I have to walk every day so I went a natural as possible during my opiate detox so I could exercise. I did take Xanax during my 2nd detox and got rebound anxiety when I stopped, so it wasn't worth what little relief I got initially. I was on Ambien during my 1st detox. Slept like a baby during detox :-)  Then it took me 4 months to taper from Ambien :-(     I'm so happy to be free from everything. I'm not sure if I have another recovery left in me after 3 times. Life is so much better on this side of the fence.  Welcome to the free world! Keep on keeping on!
