how to best detox off of methedone

i've been asked at my meth clinic would i like to switch to bup. what i want is to to get off meth.is taking this other drug a good way to detox? please someone help im tired of doing his i just want off the drugs. im on 30 mg of meth.

why not try reducing down to a few mls of methadone. and staying like that until you are confortable with a small amount.30ml is still alot.. getting meth out of your system is hard as its eats into your bones and organs over years of usage. i tried having heroin to get off the meth . gave a meth clean sample after 3-4 weeks but i couldn't stop shaking and shootings pains to your organs aren't nice.. but that was of 70mls over 11 years ... good luck on what you do ..justin

Someone plz correct me if I am Wrong .I believe you have to be a 20mg of methadone to start sub?

Being that your in a clinic setting, you may want to titrate your dose as low as you can & just jump off, 30mgs is in my opinion a fairly low dose so it wouldnt take very long. I to was looking into going onto suboxone while detoxing off methadone, but decided to tough it out on my own, I went from taking 90mgs for about 5 years & tapered for about a year till I got down to 1mg, then jumped off, & even going as slow as I did I still had issues with withdrawals, as the half life of methadone is so long. Once you get over the two to three weeks of withdrawals, your out of the woods, this seems to be the time period most people have it the worst, & it only gets better & better as each day passes. I don't know anything about the suboxone except from what I read here,but someone will come along that does.I was on methodone,I can relate to you wanting to be free of it .I jumped off at 25 mgs.,and I won't lie ,it was a rough detox,but I have been clean from it for a little over 2 months,so it is possible to free yourself from the methodone.You will find the answers you are looking for here.Goodluck to you and keep posting.Peace.
