Day 4 here we go - W/D thoughts?

Well, at 5pm today, I enter Day 4.  At least I think that is what it is.  Took the last dose of lortab at 5pm on Friday.  I think that means I'm completing Day 3 or close to it.  Still feel really horrible, even with clonidine and 50mg of tramadol every six hours.  Wonder why they aren't helping more?  I've heard some people on here talk about how the clonidine or tramadol can spare you from withdrawal symptoms.  My doctor prescribed them to me just for that, too.  I have a call into him to see if there is anything else, but I'm thinking this part of feeling bad is supposed to happen to teach me a lesson...so to speak.  I never thought I would be addicted to this stuff.  It just started out taking 30 pills per month, then 90, then 120, then oxycontin and then back down to 8-10 5mg per day, and I took 4-5mg per day for two days and then quit Friday at 5pm.  I am so ready to feel better to get over this stuff.  I keep remembering about how when I was on it and I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.  Sure, I had more energy, but it wasn't "me".  I had not gotten to the point where it affected my job (even though I took way more sick days) or wife, or family...so I knew it was time to quit before I lost the things important to me.  I c'td off 40mg per day of oxycontin the second time I tried, and it was much worse though...vomiting and all.  I haven't thrown up yet...I think I'm past that...what do you think?  I'm hoping this will be better than the oxy withdrawals. I feel about the same on day 3 and 4 comparing them both...but I'm so much more ready to quit.  Just started some laundry and ate a banana (had to force it down) and been drinking gatorade.  Your thoughts and stories today have been really helping.

Yes, avisg and I talked about it.  I don't plan on using it long, just this week.  The research indicates withdrawal can happen after about two weeks, so that will be my max.  I think that can really help with the withdrawal, for sure.  The seizures appear to be with taking it, not coming off of it.  I read some articles and it talks about seizures with people who are prone to seizures, and those that take over 700mg per day.  Maximum daily dose is 400mg and I haven't gone over that, either.  I think maybe, too, whatever your poison is...it's hard to get off of.  They don't give you a high, and it seems to just take the anxiety edge off a little bit.  Honestly, I'm thinking I can't do this without the extra meds...but I may quit it earlier than later.  Makes you wonder why it's not controlled!  I also looked it up on the FDA website and they had statistics where they have 180 cases reported of withdrawals and drug seeking behavior for it, and like 150,000k for oxy and 75k for hydro.  Boy are those numbers all low, you can bet! lol

Thanks for the warning, though...I'm definitely taking it all into consideration.
