Day 5 off methadone

Today is day 5 for my hubby. He reckons he's feeling a little bit better than yesterday. Day 4 was the worst by far. He didn't go to work today though cause he's feeling totally wiped out.. Still has ALL the w/d symtpoms but his nose isn't running so much today...I got him some Phenergan yesterday...this may be helping that.  Oh what a journey! Tomorrow should be a little better than today...baby steps toward a BIG future :o)

Hi Holliee,
I too am '100% clean!'
He had an IV morphine habit which he managed to hide from me ti one day he 'ran out' and I took him to the hospital thinking he had a serious tummy bug...oh how wrong I was!
At first I was devistated...I felt betrayed and disappointed etc etc but it took me a couple of days to sort it through in my head and I decided I was going to support him through his journey to clean clean and herre we are 2 years after starting the methadone programme and our family is still together and he's DAY 6 today...clean!!! I'm so proud of him...it's been hard work for both of us...up's and downs but worth it all to see him on the road to recovery.  He's off to his first NA meeting tonight with a friend...I never thought he'd do that to be honest but thanks to this amazing site and all the wonderful support from everyone I've managed to convince him, based on all your experiences to get some after care! LOVE can truely conquer all :o)
