Day 3 clean... I cant believe i made it thru yesterday

So I made it to day 3. Yesterday was horrible and I woke up a lot last night.. which I hated!!! But today is a new day and I feel a little stinger. I got up and got a bath this morning.( I hadn't had a bath since Monday)  That alone made me feel better. I am dressed with makeup on and working on my hair. Its exhausting... that sounds so rediculous...but I am pushing thru. My kids get out at noon and I am going to take them to lunch... they hv foxed their own supper the last to nights!!! So I am going to treat them even if I don't really feel like it...
I am moving forward. With all of Ur support I am not going back this time.
Hugs from Texas... Deb

You are a total inspiration....I want to be clean of this addiction.  I have to enough to taper off but I don't know if I have the will power.  I feel helpless.  I don't have people to talk to about my situation......Lord give me the strength!!!

Good for you for pushing yourself to get out of the house! On my day 3 I went out to eat & antique shopping with my parents. I'm in my 20s but I felt like a 90 yr old woman...it was so exhausting but I was glad I did it. Many people just lay around for a week feeling miserable...the way I looked at it was like this: I told myself, "yeah, I know u don't want to get out of bed but whether u get out of bed or not, you're going to feel like $#!+ regardless, so u might as well just get up & do something!" When u just lay around, all u can think about is how miserable u feel. If u go do something, at least it will take your mind off how crappy u feel for a little while! I think more people should push themselves to get out & about. Keep on movin and keep on eating & u will feel better faster! Congrats on your sobriety!

Well I hv made it to almost to the end of the day. I hv made slow progress today...getting up and dressed and looking normal. I took my daughter to lunch, taylor had a debate meet. Came home to rest for a bit... then I went to walmart cause we were out of everything... now I am cooking supper. Something simple... spaghetti, but my family will eat.. then I plan to crash cause I am EXHAUSTED!!!
HOPING TOMORROW IS BETTER!! Moving forward... not backward.

Thinking we can handle them is very common.  Now you know you cant so we move forward now.  Focus on the positive things that are coming your way!

Good for you, glad you made it through another day, each day will get easier.  Keep it up, you are ahead of me - doing your hair?  What?  No my hair is so pasted to my head I think I might have to shave it (not really but it's a funny visual!)

You're amazing...I couldn't do half the things you've done at day 2 or 3 in my detox. As you've read, keeping busy, if possible, is the key. Get through today and you'll find that day 4 will be better, and on and on.
Keep posting - you're doing great.

Hi Deb...
Congratulations on day 3!  I am so happy to see you back on the forum and fighting to reclaim your life!
I chuckled reading your post because I remember how long it took me to blow dry my hair when I was detoxing...It took me nearly an hour and a half because I had to keep stopping and resting....I have really long hair!

Good for you for moving forward in recovery....Do you have a plan for after care in place?
Have a wonderful day with your kids.
So proud of you....
