Did someone poison my beautiful daughter !!!!!!!

My 21 year old daughter Chloe died 2 weeks ago.  She had been a nightclub where another person had had their drink spiked earlier in the evening. He had collapsed in exactly the same way as Chloe and his drink had been spiked with GHB. Apparently Chloe had felt unwell earlier but said she did not want to go home she would just get a drink of water.  She got the water and then vomitted, collapsed and subsequently died. The post mortem is inconclusive but they say she did not have GHB poisoning.  Could the hospital have missed something here? We have photos of Chloe 40 minutes before she died she looked radiant and healthy .  OMG how will we carry on wihtout her :-(

Another thing to consider is, if she were inebriated would she have clearly recognized her aura?  Was she on anti-epileptic medication?  Most of the anti-ep and anti-seizure meds specifically state not to consume alcohol with them.  It is also possible there was something spiked in her drink that is undetectable?
I am so very sorry for your tragic loss.  I agree w/one of the above in going to some grief counseling.  People who have lost a spouse, a child, etc.  They have walked in your shoes and can better understand what you are going through.  I hope you find what you are looking for, and if spiking is the case, that justice is served.

Sorry...I had trouble logging into the site.  I'll show this to my husband and see if he has anything that you need to know or ask.  I briefly told him about this post...what I got to see.....I saw it before I got an error page and couldn't log back in. He, naturally, picked right up on the epilepsy...but I see questions here that would have to be answered before he could even begin to think of what could have happened, medically.  Did you get ANY answers to these questions?  Was Chloe alone when whatever happened, happened?  Did anyone see anything?  How good are the police/investigators in your area?  You have things here that you REALLY need answers to!  This is just so, so sad.  I hope you some solid answer so you can try to find some kind of peace.

These are the a few bits of info and the circumstances around our daughters death and the questions I have asked the police  :-( sorry its so long but please read it all before you comment. Desperate for answers.

What time did Chloe collapse?
Did Chloe collapse first, and then vomit?
Did Chloe vomit then collapse?
Did Chloe have a seizure, if so did she fit before or after she vomited?
The usual sequence of an epileptic fit with Chloe was to have the” tonic clonic” seizure and then vomit afterwards not the other way round.
Where exactly did Chloe collapse?
Was she drinking water at the time she collapsed?
Was there a bottle /glass in or around the area where Chloe collapsed, if so was it tested?
Were Chloe’s symptoms the same as the DJ who also collapsed with GHB poisoning?
Was this in the same area as the DJ who collapsed? What time did the DJ collapse and when did you decide that the 2 incidences may be connected?
At the time of Chloe’s collapse were the persons/person who spiked the DJ’s drink still in the club?
Was the pathologist aware of the other incidences of spiked drinks in the club, if so did he check for any other date rape substances?
In a 3rd incidence at Sugar Mill (the night club) where a person has/had been charged with spiking 2 girls drinks what had their drinks been spiked with?  Was that person in the club on the evening Chloe collapsed?
Did Chloe say to her friends that she felt unwell and then went to get some water?
Did anyone see Chloe drink anything around the time she collapsed?  Who was she with?
What interpretation of events did Chloe’s friends give? This all seems a bit hazy?
Chloe’s friend (Lorna) mentioned that they had discussed Pro-Plus that evening.  Chloe told her she would not take anything like that because of her Epilepsy.  Did the others use Pro-plus that night?  Could Chloe have been given Pro-plus?  Have the students used GHB themselves in the past?
What was the interpretation that the First Aiders gave of Chloe’s condition?
Can we read the statements given by the Club First Aiders ?
Did you get statements from all the people who were out with Chloe that evening?
Can we read the friends/their statements?

What was Chloe’s heart rhythm, blood pressure, respiratory rates when the paramedics attended?
Did the paramedics think they were dealing with a case of epileptic seizures ?
At what time was Chloe pronounced dead?
What time was Chloe’s blood taken at the hospital and what was it tested for? How long was it before it was actually analysed and where was this done?
What were the results of both the blood analysis’ that were done?
Our daughter was clearly a little inebriated but fit and healthy 40 minutes before her collapse (as seen on the photo with Alex and Joe) She showed no obvious signs of being unwell.  Various photos were taken that evening and Chloe looked vibrant and healthy.
What could have happened to bring on this attack of such severity when Chloe had not had a seizure for 3 years?
If Chloe had been aware of any onset of seizure “aura” she would have recognised this and asked her friends to take her home or get some medical help.
Has the fact that Chloe does have epilepsy prevented any other options being considered?  Did the paramedics think they were dealing with a case of epileptic seizures?
It is well documented that when GHB and alcohol are ingested  -   for the person to collapse, vomit repeatedly and have seizure like activity, respiratory depression, bradycardia (slow heart rhythm) and  fatality. By the time Chloe’s blood was analysed the traces of GHB could quite easily have gone.

When will the results of the post-mortem and toxicology be available to us?
In no way are we undermining your professionalism but feel all of these issues are relevant to the death of our daughter Chloe and desperately ask for your help with this.

Thank you for listening to me x

I lost my 28 yo son 3 years ago, he was killed during a traffic dispute. It's the worst loss. People give advise, but they don't understand. I finally went to a grief specialist and felt a tremendous relief. And now I don't know what to say to you, except keep looking answers. Always stay strong and God bless.

First of all...I am SO sorry!  What unbearable grief!  What do you mean that the post mortem is inconclusive?  Something had to cause this in a healthy 21 year old....a congenitive heart problem or SOMETHING.  Are all the tests back yet?  Some take more than 2 weeks.  Did they save anything that you could give to an independent pathologist for testing?  OMG...I can't even imagine what you are going through!  God Bless you and give you strength.

I don't know much about GHB but if your that concerned I think I would get a second autopsy.   If you don't mind me asking what did they say her cause of death was? I kind of know what you are going through  My grandfather committed suicide while on xanax and I still blame that drug everyday.  I am so very sorry for your loss and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
