Cocaine + Alcohol 3 nights ago.....numbness in toe

First post ever, it took some bravery.  I am a 26 y/o male.  Well heres my story, I went out on tuesday night planning on having a few beers and then calling it a night.  I ran into a few people at the bars who were going to hang out after bar close that I never have hung out with before.  At 2:45 we went to this guys place and little did I know they busted out the white stuff.  I hadnt touched the stuff since my college years (3 ago) and even then i was the kind of user who never paid for it, but id do it if it was offered.  Anyways, I was pretty drunk when I took my first rail.  The ironic thing is, I hate the stuff, and I am only succeptable to doing it when I am dunk and making poor decisions.  Next thing I know one full day passed of doing it and I got home at 3:00 on thurs morning.  I think I did 1 - 1.6 grams--most likely around 1.3g i believe.  right before i go to bed around 3:30 my right pinky toe goes numb and it has remained so for the past 48 hours which is starting to freak me out.  I never puked or have a wild heart rate or anything like that, just a loss of appetite and some restlessness along with the numbness.  My breathing was and is currently normal.  I just wanna know about thus numbing sensation.  In the past I have has some problems with anxiety and even a little panic attack once before.  I am just a little worried b/c I really didnt see myself ever doing this stuff again.  I now realize that i need to control my drinking, b/c normally i'd never do cocaine, just trick myself into doing it when I get drunk.  I am 100% convinced that I will never do coke again as this has been the scare of my life and after a little while of complete sobriety I am going to be very moderate with alcohol, beer only.

What do you guys know about the numbness??  This is freaking me out.  I just want to get back to normal and forget this happened!
please advise!!

if I did upset the man I hope he has mercy on me and this lesson comes to an end soon and that it is not permanent.  Anxiety isn't helping the matter any.  it is hard to get it off my mind as I am not working now and start my new job in a few weeks.  I have nothing to do all day but think about this.

I want to go to the Y and workout but I am unsure how my body will react.  I mean, the toe and part of my foot is numb!!  Something in my brain (or the lord) is keeping the sensation from being there.  I dont know if a vessel has contracted and if I get my heart rate up there I will have a stroke/cardiac arrest/seizure.  Or a clogged vessel in my leg (the insides hurt a little too) that is keeping an adequate amount of blood form going where it needs to go.  when I workout i lift for 2+ hrs of intense stuff.  i take a pre-workout nitrox/oxide supplement that gets you jacked and puts you in the zone.  it actually relaxes the muscles in your blood vessels so more nutrients and ammino acids flow to the muscles which increase power, lessens fatigue, shortens recovery, etc.  I prolly shouldnt take that anymore!  On off days i run several miles.  i dont know how my body will handle the binge that wrecked havoc on my body.  I wish this nightmare would end.

The last 5 days have been the worst of my life.  i dont want each and every day to be like this forever.  given that i have never really been all that "into" coke and just did it b/c i was near blackedout drunk and didnt know much better this would kill me to know how such a dumb thing like that could affect me for the rest of my days.  I kid you not when i say that i am not nor have i ever been addicted to blow.  there is no denial issue here.  the blow was there, someone passed the plate over to me, all ready, and I did it.  it was all free of charge and the whole binge was too, the guy was pretty well supplied and didnt care about the financials.  it was too easy to fall into his trap.  i wish he would have been wanting $$$ b/c i would have been like, well, im not spening my $$$ on that.  the sad part is, while at the bar, i was just about to go home and then some 1 bought me a beer.  towards the end of my beer i heard about an after hours, and i decided to attend.  I should have been at home by that time.  crazy how little options can cause a huge difference in events!

isn't it crazy how our minds work. The worst of it we know better, and then when something bad happens, we get all freaked out. maybe this toe thing is a reminder for higher powers, ya got him mad...
Well time does heal and I think you could call a doc and forget about the cocaine and find the underneath reason for this numb toe.

i have never had any numbness whatsoever in my life until that night, now 85 hours running.  Just 2 hours after my last rail.  I cant think of any other reason for it than that. I have read online that numbness in the arms, legs, hands, feet is a symptom from cocaine use, well a side effect.  I was convinced it would be gone by now.  no luck.  i know its neurological thats kinda sary knowing that something that has happened in my brain is preventing normal function from happening.  will it ever get back to normal?  I am having a little pain on the sides of my legs and it doesnt feel muscular.  it seems inside....like the vein.

hope all goes well, i dont think the toe has much to do with the cocaine use though, maybe you have just hurt it, either way going to the docs will let you know for sure :)

Please let us know how you make out if you go to the doctors. Like i said the numbness usually went away quick for me. I hope all turns out ok for you. I'm thinking this scare is enough to keep you away from the blow. Good luck man, hope to hear from ya soon

So little progress has been nade on the numbness front, I fear there is vein damage and something is being cut off.  Thus keeping the right nutrients form getting where it needs to go.  This is so sad to me.  I never thought I would go through something like this.

I am having the same symptoms as last night and I am unsure if this is because of the anxiety, or something dangerous happening to me from the inside.  It has been 75 hours since the last line.  I just want to make it to monday when I can get to the doctor and if need be, a cat scan and mri, or a cardiac catheterization.  This is scary.  never in a million years did I ever think this would be happening to me.

So I never ended up going to the hospital or calling my doctor.  I eventually got to sleep and got a decent rest.  My right toe/side portion of foot is still numb.  It seems to be a little less numb but i really cannot tell as it has been numb for 64 hours now.  Hard to tell if it is getting any better.  I hope it doesn't stay like this forever!  That would be miserable.  It has been about 67 hours since I last hit a rail so things are to clearing out mentally and the mannerisms of use are fading away.  I have a pretty clear head, now I am just incredibly frustrated with the numbness.  Any speculation on the neurological ramifications that are happening anyone?

The sad part is, I am an athlete, I run distance and spend a lot of time in the gym.  This numbness will be on my mind constantly while exercising.  I wont workout for at least 5 days and I really hope things get back to normal then so I can put this behind me for ONCE and for all.  I know what many may be thinking, why would a health conscious person do this to themselves?  I just do not know the answer to that.  I have been drinking too much and this is an awakening call on that subject too.  If doing that affects me doing others things like blow than that issue needs to be addressed as well.  This has been a huge reality check for me.

I just want to get back to normal w/ no numbness in the foot, back in college several yrs ago I would always be back to normal by now and on with my daily life.  Never w/ any numbness whatsoever.  Not this time though.  :(

If you are that worried now, then get to a doctor. usually the sypmtoms are gone within a couple days, but it's better safe then sorry. I do think your fine though and you may be scaring yourself a bit here. it does not hurt to see a doctor. i created a health page with short term/long terms effects of cocaine and overdose. check it out if you want. you will see health pages in top right of this screen and it shows some of the sypmtoms.

man, something wierd seems to be happening.  i have been trying to fall asleep and every time I get close to dosing off ill have a random twitch.  This hasnt happened yet.  be it my leg, arm, hand, knee, foot....something.  I am considering calling a family friend who also is my family doctor.  it would be the hardest call of my life but i dont know what to do.  plus, my parents dont know i have used coke before.  this would be really hard on them.  its so wierd, i feel fine when i am alert and awake but right before i dose off a sudden jerk...a sign?

Listen bud, i have been there, i understand what your saying and it is scary, but i honestly think you will be fine now. If something would have happened to you, it would have by now, but like i say, it the numbness continues and your concerned see a doctor, but it is normal ok:). I am proud of you man for getting on here and asking for help. i don't want to preach, but i know coke well, it starts off as a wonder drug, but quickly that all disappears and all it brings is pain and maybe death. the reason i am clean from this drug today is cause it took an overdose and ambulance ride to scare me straight, i could not stop until then. You can end this now and move on, but im glad u know about the alcohol and how it triggers coke use, it took me many years to figure that one out. It can take 3-4 days for coke to leave your system and i found in those days after using i was paranoid, angry, depressed and swore never again, but i always went back. Don't stress man, your going to be fine, but let this be a lesson learned.

Thanks for sharing.  I am glad to read from someone else who has experienced the numbness.  When I said I hadnt touched the stuff since my college days I should have elaborated a bit more.  I did it several times in college and on a few occassions it got ugly.  The people who I knew that did blow 'based' it and thats how I began doing it.  They all were pretty addicted and I was glad no to fall under the spell.....i prolly got down with them perhaps 8 times or so and I havent based in 6 years and never will..we used to do a ball or so over a long period of time...the smell of it makes me want to puke.  But then from 03-05 I would occassionly have an evening with a few rails....nothing like the earlier years.

seriously though I havent done it since 05 and i am so ashamed that I did it on after bar close tues night.  i really dont know how much i did....it was free.  i didnt see how much he had but it didnt appear as if the guy cared at all....  I would be very suprised to find out if I hit 2g's but in retrospect i would not rule that out.  I barely remember taking the first bump and then i recall being up and at it for the next 24 hour duration.

my level of intoxication while doing it is what scares me.

god i am so mad at myself!!
the lack of feeling in my lil toe and a side portion of my foot is driving me mad!

Not sure, but perhaps it is just a coincidence that it has gotten numb after the coke..in other words they might not have anything to do with each other, but coke does mess with your central nervous system..I would just relax and if it begins to radiate into your foot or leg I would seek medical attention.

I do want to say to you that you are NOT the only one whose judgement is impaired when drinking. To me beer and coke go hand in hand, therefore I have to totally refrain from drinking because the moment my defenses are down I want to do coke.  I know this about myself and just stay away from alcohol because of it. Anyway, let us know what happens, but for now sugar, RELAX..it will be OK!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am a cocaine addict now clean and YES, alcohol is and always  will be one of my biggest triggers for coke. I was drunk off my *** on on exctasy the first time i did a line just to try it, but it wasn't long before i had a hook up and bought my own. Once addicted to this drug the cravings are so intense, it is next to impossible to stop.  I am so happy you posted, take it from me DO NOT travel down this road, you have no idea yet the damage this drug will cause you and quitting is next to impossible so stop now while you still can.

As far as the numbness goes, i had that many many times, but it never seemed to last that long, just a few hours after use and only if i had used quite a bit. Im pretty sure this is caused because cocaine narrows blood vessels and circulation is not as good. Although a gram is not a lot to use, every line done is playing with fire so i would suggest to you, don't even drink a few beers for awhile, you know as well as i do how the mind changes after a few and then coke comes into your mind. If you are worried, go see a doctor about this, but i think you will be fine. i had the numbness in toes, fingers and legs but it never lasted. Please be careful, this drug will steal everything from you before you know it. In a way im glad your freaked out by this, but truth be told, the numbness is nothing compared to what will happen if you continue to use. best of luck to ya and im here if you have any questions

well i this is a copy and paste from a website goving info on coke and this was part of it:
Other Cocaine side effects are the following:
agitation, excitability, irritability, nervousness, or restlessness
difficulty passing urine or urinary incontinence
dilated (enlarged) pupils
dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting spells
fast or irregular heartbeat
headache
increased sweating
mood swings or other mental changes
nausea, vomiting
nervous tics or rapid speech
numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or arms
stomach pain
tremor
troubled breathing (hyperventilation)
unusual muscle weakness

so the numbness is a known side effect.  what scares me is the alcohol combination.  I have read that it makes things much worse.  a chemical called cocaethylene is produced in the liver when the two collided.....and it is much more dangerous when the drug on its own.

I did read a pdf located at http://www.themagellangrp.com/coursepdf/CocaineOverdose.pdf that talks about being succeptable to seizures days after usage.

Also, is there any way to edit posts?  I need to fully think my posts through before I submit them so I dont rack up so many short ones, but more substance.

Nope no numb toes. I have done ALOT OF COKE in my past. Had a numb face for a few days but no other areas that I didnt put it on.
I don't think a numb toe has anything to do with the coke. But I'm not a doctor.

well thats good to know, but the numbness is being controlled by my brain, and I am very curious why this is happening and how long it could go on.

Do you think your brain is bleeding?  It sounds like you are in a panic.I don't think you will have a seizure from drugs you did several days ago.

Hey if having a numb toe is going to keep you from using. It's a good thing, right. Of course if it starts turning black, it may be cause for concern.

BTW i wish i could edit the post as I will never forget this ever happened.

How long doed the brain bleed?  Could the blow still be active inside of me placing me at risk for a seizure/stroke/anything else?
