Emotional Piece of Withdrawal -- can anyone answer

Hi All -

I want to thank you all for this board, I do not post much but read alot! I have been off of lorcet 2 1/2 weeks now after 2 years of usage at about 3 10/350 a day. To some, I know that is not alot but the effects are still there. What I did not really expect was the emotional piece of it. I am on medication for depression and always have been dues to pmdd.  Although I am feeling great physically, the emotional piece is not "normal" yet. I am wondering if this is normal and how the heck long does it take to get back to "normal".

Thank you all in advance -

I am trying to take supplements but often forget! I have also been on prozac for year and yes, it takes away your sexual drive. I think it would be a good idea to switch if it is early on, Dr. didn't want to switch me.

Hi...I suffer (well, my coworkers and boyfriend suffer the most) from PMDD also. I'm almost a month off vikes, and a little more than 2 weeks off the nicotine! I am going through some serious up and down emotions. One minute I'm snapping, crying, then laughing! Most of my moods are high...but when I'm down, I am Down!
also...winter and seasonal affective disorder are kicking my butt.

I know this will all pass..balance out, whatever, I'm just grateful that I can explain to my partner what I'm going through so that he doesn't take it so personal. co-workers? eh, they'll figure it out. LOL

I do take prozac for pmdd...but it has completely taken away my sexual appetite. I'm thinking about going to the doc for Yaz.

Congrats on getting your life back and 21/2 weeks is great!!  The side effects of coming off pills takes time but it will get better.  Exercise will help also.  Are you taking any type of supplements?  Keep posting here.......sara

Thank you for the response. It is so greatly appreciated.  I need to be patient - it has only been 2 1/2 weeks.  I continue to have pain which I am working on in otherways so that is a part of what gets me down to! I walked for the first time yesterday since my surgery in September!

For me the emotional part of withdrawl was the hardet. I have been told by alot of people it can take up to 6 months to feel normal again. Some people on here have told me that they felt great after the first week. Like you I used a lower dose than most but got hit hard with all the emotional stuff. I am a little over 5 months clean now and still not 100% normal mentally but don't let that scare you. I feel alot better now than in the beginning. I am starting to wonder if I have developed an anxiety disorder or something I don't know. Just hang in there. It does get better!!! You're doing great if you already have 2 1/2 weeks under your belt!!!!
