I have RLS too. Bad. From before pill times. Started taking for it. Norcos.
I take Requip for it. One before bed. Works for me. Remember not feeling good when first started but it was at night so not too bad. It passed in a couple of days. Otherwise it works good for me. But not the pain part if it. Only thing that helps is a hot Epson salt bath when it starts to hurt. I have other OTC stuff but they don't work like the bath does.
Congrats on the 18 days. Sleep will resolve itself soon.

Great advice above. Also- something I just discovered which has replaced the sleep meds I was on for nearly 2 decades is Tryptophan (yes the stuff in turkey) You need a scrip for it here in Canada but it is a natural sleep aid if taken in high doses. I started at 1000 mg while I was tapering off the other junk and now I'm up to 2000 mg. It takes awhile to build in your system but it's a natural seratonin booster and mood stabilizer, it helps lengthen and deepen the quality of your sleep. I take it with 20 mg of melatonin (that's a high dose but I have bad pain right now and it really helps knock me out) I sleep about 8-9 hours now and after detox I didn't sleep more than 5-6 even after a year clean, and even taking a benzo and sleeping pill.
For the RLS try the magnesium drink CALM. And eat a banana when you wake up. This really helped me.

Hi, Vics given you great advice, also if you can get hold of Red Krill Oil or Calamari Oil over the counter, it is extremely helpful for RLS and Arthritis. It is omega 3, and essential for your brain and body as it sends signals to your legs telling them to relax. I swear by this stuff as i have rheumatoid Arthritis in my legs and it stops all my pain. I dont use anything else.

Just hang in and give it more time..It took me awhile to finally get some good sleep..I will not tell you how long because I think you will come back sooner..I am a bit older and came off of 3 meds c/t so it did take some time for the brain/body to adjust back..One day soon you should hit a point to where all you want to do is sleep..Are you taking any of the Magnesium, Potassium and some Ds and Calcium at night?? Are you taking those Epsom salt baths?? This should help but it does take time for the Vit/Min to kick in..Make sure the room is dark and cool..NO flashing lights and turn the TV off because it stimulates those UP Chems in our Brain..There is a certain hormones that needs to work for us to be able to get good sleep..one is Melatonin..You can find this as a natural sleep aide as well..I wish you the best and just have some more Patience..It seems to move like a turtle at first and then Bam it all starts to balance back.

Hang in there. I am on day 20 from stopping Norco use for 5 yrs. I started sleeping better around the 2nd week. I cut cold turkey though. Maybe consult a doctor about RLS. Hopefully someone else who has experienced this can help. Just try to stay positive ..... Your 18 DAYS CLEAN!!!! Way to go!
