Going crazy. Day 11 and still cannot sleep!

I hate this! I still cannot sleep. It makes me so cranky when trying to take care of my child who is screaming his head off at me when he does not get his way.  It feels like 22 days rather than 11, due to lack of sleep.
Miserable.... Still crying and sneezing..
I want this to go away!
And when I do sleep, the dreams are very vivid, too real. I even dream about taking Norco..But in my dream, it doesn't relieve the pain.
Can anyone relate?
I m so sick of staying up all night!!!!!!!

Thanks for writing. But not great news..
I know, i have been told by many to exercise. My surgery was a year ago, hip replacement from a car accident, and i am not old... My muscles are so weak from lack of food. I m down to 119. And i am 5'7".  Appetite is coming back so i take that as a very good sign.  I just want to sleeeeeeep. I took a walk today with my dog and son and about had to rest in the road halfway.
Now my "new " hip is hurting and clicking and they may have to do another surgery. Bone Scan coming up.  I can't take anything but Tylenol for pain, which is a total joke.
The only good news is, when i get my 2-4 hours sleep, my dreams are very vivid. And they say that is a good sign.  We all must dream. And the dreams are GOOD!  No nightmares.

Thanks for talking to me Flo and Bec.
I am going to listen to some Soft music and pray for sleep.

Thanks for being there. ..Here.  I am going to go try hard to sleep again. I just had some mashed potatoes and gravy, hoping that will do the trick.  Ha . Ha.
Appreciate you  writing. Really needed to talk.
Gracious.

Hi,

I ca understand your plight; I was there too. My insomnia lasted at least a month with vivid dreams, tossing and turning, staring at the clock thinking I have to get ready for work in a few hours, etc...no picnic.

The only thing that made a difference was exercise. I know you're tired but if you can start exercising, you'll start giving your body a physical reason to rest.  Endorphins will start kicking in and that helps as well. I was going to the gym at 5AM every morn (I was up by 3AM anyway) and started doing cardio and strength training.  After a month, I pretty much made it through all the physical symptoms; just had to deal with PAWS afterwards.  For PAWS, I gave myself two years as I was on percs/patches for five years.

Good Luck & Keep Going...sleep will come.

Someone always has it worse. I haven't been sleeping either but for a differant reason than you however I also get my only sleep when the sun is coming up maybe two hours or so. And to think I used to stay up all night or many nights for that matter on purpose.

Yes, but not until the sun rises. About 2 or 4 if i am lucky.
Then my son (8) wakes up and NEEDS many things. I am a zombie.
Thanks for responding.
I just read about a man at his wit's nd because his son tried to commit suicide.
So I guess my problems can't compare to that.
