Oh sweetie.. BEST OF LUCK to YOU on your ROAD TO RECOVERY!
I KNOW you can do this... (heck. if I can... YOU CAN)
Please keep us posted on your progress.... and God Bless you...
Well i think i am going to try the rehab can't hurt anymore there than at home and there maybe i will get some help will my problem....wish me luck and prayers. i will post when i get out or if i can get a computer there i will let ya'll know how i'm doing.
My FEELING is You GOTTA hurt to GET CLEAN... (if that makes any sence)
I find that when I look back and REMEMBER how hard my withdrawl was.. it makes me realize that I don't EVER want to have to go thru that again...
40 per day is a pretty nasty habit.
If you are gonig to try a taper program, then it needs to be one that is set up to suit you. By that I mean- not just trying to taper on the 50 or so pills that you have left. A taper program for someone that was using 40+ pills a day should take months if done properly.
The severety and length of the WD you will go thru trying to quit CT will also depend on how much and how long you used. I was using between 15 and probaby 22 a day for quite a while, and I am still experiencing the WD symptoms (2 weeks clean today!!) Of course, the nasty WD was over in 5 days or so....but still...it will not be easy, and you have to really want it.
I believe that old saying..."different strokes...". What works for some may not work for others. If you are going to do a taper program (and are able to do a taper...I never could becuase I would just eat all the pills I had, forgetting all about my taper program) then please set up one properly. Not real sure on the specifics, but something like dropping 5 or 10 mgs per week, over the length of 4 or 5 months or something. Something like that.
Only you know yourself well enough to know if a taper program will work for you, or if inpatient rehab is the way to go.
well i have had a heavy addicaiton for 3yrs was up to 40 per day and now down to 19 but only have 50 some odd pills left to taper with that is why i was thinking the rehab maybe the best way to go to get off these damn things. they are telling me that they give meds to help with w/d's dont get me wrong i know i am going to have that already been there but it just sounds like a way to get off these faster than tryin to use what i have left to taper. any thoughts??
I belive that alot of that depends on many different things. How long you have been using, how much you have been using, your mental health and your personality just to name a few.
I had a nasty loratab addiction that I overcame on my own, with no rehab....but it wasn't easy. From most of my research, I have concluded that the longer someone goes to rehab, and aftercare, the better the chance that they wont go back to using. However, I consider myself an exception to this rule....(not to toot my own horn).
Good luck to you
