Congrats for making the decision to quit! I too had to work through my withdrawals. I was detoxing off of methadone and hydros. I will have to admit that working throughout this process is next to impossible but it can be done. I started on a wednesday so my severe symptoms hit on the weekend and I limped to work on Monday. If at all possible I recommend taking small walks around the office or outside if you can. This is probably the last thing you feel like doing right now but it will help with the anxiety that you are experiencing....Once you get home you are home free to sit in hot baths all night....Try taking some melatonin or some benadryl with an tylenol. This will give you a fighting chance to get at least an hour or two of sleep.
Hang in there man.....If you are serious about quitting this will go by quickly.....The after affects are tough but nothing compared to what you are going through now. Good luck and I hope you make it!
I did the taper route and it worked really well for me. I did have withdrawls but was able to manage them. The withdrawls will go away but they are awful when you are going through them. Immodium was my best friend!!! Good luck to you and I wish you the best!!
Thanks I will check it out just hating it right now
Yep this is part of the WD's. Your strong if you taper I couldn't do it I had to go CT and take a few days off of work. I have a very high stressful job but my life is more important to me than a job. I was on pills for a long time too and yes your brain is freaking out. Have you looked on here for the Thomas Recipe? This can help you through this. Congrats on trying to quit! Keep fighting the good fight and keep us posted.
Thats the awful thing with these medications especially after long term use, they disrupt your brain's ability to produce its own chemicals that regulate pain, sleep/wake cycle, etc. When you stop or attempt to withdraw the use of these meds/drugs, it takes the brain a period of time to kick back in its own production. That period of time can be very very rough for sure.
