Half WayThere!

For my first post I think it best I tell you what's been going on.  For the past five years my pain meds have been increased time and time again.  Before I made my decision to stop taking these terrible meds I was up to 90 mg of Oxyneo and Percocet a day.  30 in the morning, 20 in the afternoon and 20 before bed.  I had 4 oxy 5 mg for breakthrough pain and I used all four every day. Currently, after 3 weeks of hell I am down to one 20 mg oxyneo during the day and 4 oxycocet.  I also take baclofen for my back spasms and cozoplicone to sleep at night.  I have been able to get this far by readin your inspiring posts and by paying close attention to natural remedies as well *** prescribed ones to alleviate some of the withdrawal symptoms.  I can't thank you all enough for you support thus far.  My next step is to switch the 20mg to 10mgs and just take two with no breakthrough Percocet, but I'm scared this will send me into a fiercer withdrawal.  I can take most of it but the RLS in all my extremities is driving me crazy and the weekness that goes along with it is unbelievable.  I can hardly make it up the stairs!  So here I am, close to the jump, but not quite.  Needing your help.  Any suggestions and encourage, net would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for all the info Vicki.  Walmart didn't have everything on my list, so I will hit SDM tomorrow for the rest.  I just had a hot bath with the Epsom salts.  It really helped!  Skin feels good too!

Thank You. It takes ALL of US to make it work out here. WE all have are own Experiences and Strength to give out here and I have learned from the Best out here too!

Check out that RLS vit that they talk about on here. I know when I used my Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium and Ds these helped me relax my Muscles and help a bit with sleep. There is also Melatonin that is a natural sleep aid..Look at all the Emergen-C. There is one that says Eleloctro-Mix on it. Also the Immune one. Lots of Bs too. These are nice becasue you add them to water and this way you drink more water. Ha! Look at some of the Airborn ones too! I spent to much money on my stuff at first. I wanted it to be all natural and in a liquid too. I still by the natural stuff but I found this to work too. I use the D3 oil and mix it with Magnesium these day for sleep or if I am restless. They go good together.
Come on back and give us a Update and come in and help other with your own Experiences.

Thanks Vickie, I have read many of your posts and find them very inspiring.  You are so very helpful and certainly deserve that flower beside your nickname.  I've just added Epsom Salts to my list.  I am also wondering if you could suggest something for the weakness in my muscles, or is that just part of the RLS.  If it is, how long does the weakness last once I am off this poison that has taken me over???? I am heading out now to Walmart (like I planned to an hour ago!) as long as I don't start reading another tread!  Lol. Cheek back in a couple of hours,
Liz

Hi & Welcome to our Forum.

It has been on the slow side right now so keep checking in and others will chime in.
You got some good info from ImInAve.

I too got the clonidine back in 2012 when I went c/t off of 3 meds. I did not get it until later in the weeks. By then I could only take it at night. It is a BP med that lots of Dr use these day.
Also when you do take those Baths make sure you add some Epsom salt to the water. The Magnesium is such a good thing to use both inner & out.

Just know that the Detox part will be over soon. It is working on staying clean that take the cake!
Keep checking in for Support and also Join out on the Forum to help Support others. I am sure it will pick up again on here.
Bless

My doctor wrote clondadine for me, too! I was freezing too lol! It just made me dizzy. I got the restful legs at Walmart next to the vitamins and supplements. Congrats on the taper, sounds like your doing good, and determines! Just remember slow and steady win the race! Keep it up!

Congrats on day four of nothing!!!   I have 10 mg OxyContin being delivered on Tuesday (I have the best pharmacist in the world!).  I plan on dropping the 20 for 10, for a week and than just the 5s when I absolutely need to.  Hopefully I will be down to zero in the next couple of weeks.  I'm so eager to get there but scared at the same time!  I envy you.  I have seen theL-tyrosine at shoppers drug mart but I have never seen Hylands Restful Legs before.  Where did you pick it up?  My Doctor prescribed Clonidine to help with RLS but it doesn't seem to help much and it dropped my BP to 90/70.  I could not get warm even in a hot tub!

Have you ever tried Hyland's Restful Legs? I always get a couple bottles of it before detoxing. I'm on day 4 of nothing today, and it seems to help some with the RLS. Also hot showers/baths are supposed to really help. The only thing that totally gets rid of it for me is walking, though. Another thing I do that helps with energy levels is an amino acid supplement called L-tyrosine, it's normally found in food like banannas, meat, cheese, etc, but it's the stuff your body uses to make the "feel good" chemicals in your brain. Obviously, it's best to talk to a healthcare professional about drug interactions with any health supplement, but I've never had any issues with these. You're doing a great undertaking here, keep it up!
