Has anyone tried to ween self off of Vicodin?

Has anyone tried to ween themselves off of Vicodin?  I used the drug for back pain and wanted to stop the drugs to see how well I could manage without it.  I was taking 5 to 10 per day depending on the pain.  I have now cut back to 3 half tabs of 7.5 per day....which I think is pretty good considering what I was taking.  I have mild withdrawl....cramping, on edge, most annoying is the sweating and chills.  Perhaps I weened too quickly.  I am on day 4 of cutting back and I do feel somewhat better.  I have been drinking plenty of water and vitamins with the additional potassium tablet for the cramps due to the night sweats.  Anyone have any other suggestions for me? Please let me know

The nights sweats are good for you.  That's how you're ridding the toxins! Frequent hot baths will make you feel better. Force those fluids!!

If I read that right you are only taking about 11mg a day for the last 4 days. I would just cut it off now. Your already experiencing some of the withdrawals just get it over with if ya want to quit.  I don't think you can really cut that dose down too much more. Good luck my friend..

r u an addict?  it does make a difference as it is harder for an addict to taper.  But sounds like u r doing well...there is a great article on tapering in the health pages.
Some feel it is easier to CT and get it over with, some feel tapering can drag out wds, others just simply cant taper, like me., and end up right back where they were before, or worse.  Ideally, a long slow taper should make it easier, if the person can stick to it

good luck to u....i am a chronic painer myself, but for me, it reached the point where it wasnt really about pain anymore...it was about addiction

keep posting
