Hi Abbey
I just wanted to offer my support.
You must be very scared right now and feel very alone.
I hope you are feeling the support from here and know that we all care very much.
I don't have much advice to add but I just wanted you to know that I care and hope that everything turns out well for you.
Staying away for the Ultram is a good start.

Pat

What med did you call in? How did you get the Dr. info to call it in ie: DEA number? Have you ever filled this drug at this pharmacy before.

Just need a little bit more info. I have knowledge in this unfortunately so I might be able to help

I kinda figured you would say Ultram and depending on which state you are in it may be a scheduled IV controlled substance. I know that federally is is not (unless that has changed recently) but alot of sgtates are puching for it because IT IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! It has been marketed so wrong and although its "non-narcotic" it is still a synthetic opiate.

So as far as what kind of trouble you might be in, Your lucky in the sense that its not federally controlled but again it all depends on the state. My guess is that since they told you to come back with a hard script or to have the Dr call that they may not be chosing to pursue this. The pharmacy will typically cal the police and file a report but in most cases the police will try to get you ":red handed" meaning, they will fill the prescription and let you pick it up and then arrest you. So since that didnt happen you may be ok but it may be beneficial to consult an attorney and get their advice,.

My bigger concern is that you are commiting crimes to get this drug. This should show you HOW ADDICTIVE and dangerous it is! There are alot of people on this site alone who have been and are addicted to it. DO you want to get off the medication?? I think this may need to be a wake up call for you because you may be hitting your bottom honey.

Were the other rx's legit? I thought ultram was controlled...

So, it sounds like you've been doing this successfully? How did you get away with that? Don't they ask for an ID?

Well, I don't see,how this can come back to you. They don't know who YOU are. Did you go in person to pick it up?  We'd like to help you out here but the info you're giving is a little spotty...

I'm with teresa here.. this is a HUGE wake up call.  Tramadol was my DOC for years and it was extremely addictive.

What do you think?  Do you think it's time to try and quit?

Thanks Teresa . I know it is not a controlled substance here I checked that and I'm also a nurse . And yea it is highly addictive and now I'm stopping cold turkey cause that scared the **** out of me . I just hope it's more hassle for them to Pursue it then not . He did say since it was a wrong number id have to have the dr call so I'm hoping they didn't call the dr . And yes ultras is highly addictive and needs to he controlled . I get so sick w out it but I am done and the thought of going to jail put me in a panick attack  . Plus the friend whose name it is in could get in trouble and she knows nothing about it . Thanks for ur advice and I hope ur right ! We're u taking ultram as well?

Ultram is controlled in some states. It is in my state as I have to have a script for my patients that take it. You need to stop right away! If you get caught there is legal consequences including jail time. I am trying to scare you so you stop! Im a nurse and I  call in scripts for my patients but I always always talk to the doctor first.

Id just walk away. It doesn't seem like they are gonna investigate it-but I don't know how the pharm works sounds like they wont fill it until a hard script is on file. Please don't do this again. So many members have come here so scared as they have done the same thing. If they do call you then you will have to be honest with your doctor and spill the beans-they will then decide whether or not to pursue further action.

Don't ever go back there-I think you are in the clear. If they left it at that and said they were not gonna follow up then hopefully its ok. I know you are scared hon. Sending prayers that it doesn't go further. ((hugs))

Vicky , it is not controlled. I was prescribed it for a whole and then was put on a med that the ins wouldn't allow to be prescribed together.  I've been getting fake rxs for a while now I guess several months . They didn't ask for Id and I guess cause its not controlled I didn't need the Dea number . I am so afraid I'm going to be getting a call from my friend that people r calling her about it . And yes I am stopping from here on in. Ill suffer the wd for a few days . Thanks everyone . How'd u finally kick the ultram ?

Yes I took both tramadol and Norcos and Trams suck!! Are you completely out of them?? Because if your not my advice is TAPER OFF OF THEM. The ssri componant to it can cause seizures especially in high daily doses. I wished I would have tapered when I came off these!

Im glad you want to stop! Your in the right place! This is a huge wake up call for you. ImDONENoMore used them as her DOC  and successfully came off them so she will be very helpful in this. Im just glad you found this sight!

Well You wouldnt need a DEA number because thats for Federal, so again its a matter of a state issue. But I think you may have dodged a bullet on this because they likely would have arrested you on the spot! So I think you may be ok.

Controlled, not controlled.  Not really the issue here.  You need to get help and you need to stop.  And not for just right now, cause you're scared.

But please, get a good plan in place and find your way out of this mess. I'm thinking given the field you're in you might know of some good addiction counselors or rehabs you could consider?  And I hope your friend doesn't get in trouble either.  Maybe you need to tell her what you did?  At least so she has a heads-up if they come after her. Being honest with her might be the right start to your quitting and to your recovery.

Well first thing is just relax, and take a deep breath. Whats done is done and you cant stress over this now. Coming of trams is not fun but you can do it. We can help answer any questions you might have and help you the best we can to get through this.

Do you have a Dr you can go to to get help with the w/d's or who can mayube give you some more of these so you can taper?? 10-15 a day is what I came off of and it was tough

Well I hope that you dont lose your license because I know first hand how hard that is! BUT again, you cant change what has happened! I really think you might be ok because its not a federally controlled substance. Just start focusing on how you want to take your life back so you can get away from these dangerous pills

Us addicts do really really stupid things sometimes. I have no room to judge anyone. Are you quitting because you are forced to quit -you ran outta pills or do You want to quit? I have been "forced" to quit in the past as I ran outta pills and would go in and out of withdrawal but as soon as I could Id get more. I know that is a hard question I just asked ya. Yes,,its really going to suck the next few days. You can do it! We all have here and lived to tell our stories. Please consider thinking about some type of aftercare or NA. You will need it!

I cant say for sure,,but I think it was left at that when you left from what you are saying. Just stay far away from there for now. ((hugs))~Bkitty

Actually yes the psychiatrist I see is an addictions specialist as well . I may need to call him for advice or a script to do the taper.  If my friend gets any calls I will have to tell her bit til then I will not bring it up . I know the wd will b awful. I've been on like 2 a day for a week and it has been tolerable.
