Help with coping.

I have been taking Vicoden every day for a couple of years. I started taking them after I had a surgery and I had noticed how well they help me sleep ( I have PTSD so sleep is a hard thing to come by) so I would take them every night before bed for about a year. Then I started taking some during the day. On average I take about 20 mg a day. I have not taken any for 16 hours and Im ok but kinda uncomfortable. Im dreading going to sleep tonight. I really nedd suggestions on how to make this bearable I cant just be sick and do nothing. My life is crazy busy and this is why I have not stopped before. But now Im determined to have this out of my life and cleanse my body of this stuff. I will not take anymore I just need some suggestions from some People that have been threw it.

Thanks for your help!

I agree w Sonrissa - u r not on that high of a dose... It wont be the most pleasant experience of your life but you'll be ok.

I've been on and off the last few years, sometimes up to 15 x 7.5MG Vicodin... Day 6 and doing ok.

Sometimes the fear is worse than the ride itself.

Good luck and congrats on your decision to quit.

We r here - great people on this forum to help you-  keep posting - u will get through it.

I forgot to add to try to stay as active and busy as you can! Light exercise will help alot! Not only to pass the time, but to make you tired and easier to sleep! Best wishes!

Hi there and welcome!  You are not taking that high of a dose, so I would not think the withdrawals would be too bad! But, everyone is different! Check out the Thomas .recipe at the bottom right hand side of this page! There things you can take that will help ease the symptoms! For sleep you might try some Melatonin, or Sleepy Time tea! You will probably feel cruddy for a few days and then the worst of it will be over!  Take care, and keep posting with any questions or if you need support! Good luck!!
