I NEED HELP! Any info appreciated!

Here is my situation (in short) and my question.  I have been taking about 15 tramadol a day for a while.  (on and off with clean days in between each week)  I took my last dose at 130 pm on Friday, but I found and took 2 yesterday afternoon to try to stop the horrible restless arms that I always get the 1st night off of them.  It is basically like opiate withdrawal, so lots of you will probably be able to answer this.  Do I start counting from Friday or yesterday when I took those 2.  I guess this will be easier to deal with if I know that tomorrow I will have 72 hours and not 48!  I only took 2, and not the 15 that I am used to.  I honestly don't know how much it set me back.  I am so tired of this roller coaster and need some encouragement and hope to make this the last time.  I have some clonidine, and that is helping me, but it makes me very weak in addition to the weakness that comes with this in general.  HOW MUCH LONGER????

Thank you all.  You guys are awesome!

I have honestly tried tapering.  I never have the willpower to do it.  That would be so much better and easier.  And I don't have anyone to help me with it.  My husband would NEVER EVER go for that.  Thank you so much though.  I'll make it.  I know that.  I'm just really disappointed in myself and tired of weekly withdrawal!  It's CRAZY!  And, like everyone, I'd like to know when it'll be over!

Can you refill the tram to do a proper taper?  I'd call the doctor in the morning.  This is not stuff to fool with(not that you are,I don't mean to imply that).   Also, when Avisg comes on she'll see your post and respond.  She knows a lot about tram...
Try not to worry...just keep posting to keep the thread fresh and others will respond.

Oh, you are so right!  I have detoxed off many, many opiates, and while tram is bad and longer, it is nothing NEAR as severe as something like oxycontin or methadone!  That is pure misery.

I don't really have a doc like that.  And my husband found out.  Probably the best thing that could happen at this point, so this does not continue.  I really want and need to quit.  I have lied to my husband for so long that he is very leary of me going to the doc at all alone or to get meds like that.  I am just kind of on my own!

Thank you so much for responding!

I don't think the 2 you took did much of anything for you -- especially if you are used to taking 15 per day.  The half-life of tramadol is 6-7 hours -- fairly long compared to many other opiods.  So the wd may last a little longer, but it won't be as severe as something like oxycodone.

Do you have a doctor that you can talk to and be honest with?  If so, he may give you something to help you out.

Good luck

The more I think about that, the more it scares me.  I am taking clonidine and it's keeping my bp down and warding off some of the bad WD's.....I THINK.  I am so scared!

Wow...that's scary.  I have never heard of that before.  Do you happen to know anything about what I was asking?

I know someone who had a seizure weeks after she stopped ct.  This isn't a drug to mess around with.  You should taper.  You won't know if a seizure is going to hit you or not.  I think your intentions are great, but be sure to keep yourself safe.

I have "cold t'd" every time.  The seizure risk is when you are taking them.  I have had them while taking it at high doses but never when coming off.  I'm not saying it isn't miserable, but I have never had any dangerous effects coming off of it.
