Hey,hope you're still hanging in there. You're doing awesome,I know the rls was the worst for me and not sleeping!! Before bed I'd run a HOT bath as hot as my body could stand and dump in some Epsom salts, light some scented candles and turn off the light. I'd just lay there and float. Then put on something cool and light to wear to help with the night sweats, make sure your bed is made all nice and cozy,I'd just use a top sheet then fold my blanket down for when the chills come on. Make sure the tv is off and all the lights. Then snuggle up and close your eyes. If this doesn't work within 10-20 minutes then get up,try reading or some soothing music. Maybe some sleepy time tea. Then try again, you want your bed to be a place of relaxation and sleep. So if you can't sleep get up and try these things again. Don't try sleeping on the sofa with the tv on it will just stimulate the brain. Don't drink coffee or soda or have any sugar past 1-2 in the afternoon. I know it *****,but I do promise the sleep and the rls will let up. Just one hour at time, that's all we can do!! :)) peace Hun!!
You can try NAMI or DBSA online. Both offer free support groups. One maybe for your daughter called family and friends meets once pr month.
The families discuss how to cope and get their own Ya Yas out.
Or you can join an online group. Maxy.
Oh Walmart sells a product for RLS.
Extremely rough night, I was up all night with RLS. It was the worst but I feel a little better today so hopefully each day continues to get better. I already go to counseling for the death of my husband so I'm going to see if she can help or point me in the right direction. Thanks.
You're doing great. Every day will get easier. But then yes there will be a bump in the road at times. The brain will heal. It takes time. I go to a mental Heath support group once per week. My girlfriend likes bible study class. I know it's hectic with a house full of children, but get some support. It means success in the long run. Maxy
I just got some excerdrin extra strength so we'll see how that works. I feel like I'm almost there but yet it still feels so far away. The farthest I have ever mad it was about 7 days so I'm doing much better this time. Day is over & il on my way to day 9. My kids need me & I need myself. I wish I would of known all this stuff before I ever started.
I got some advice today to try Himilyan salt mixed in water for headaches. Otherwise during detox I take excedrin extra strength. And Alka seltzer sometimes. Bananas help. With magnesium supplements.
Have you tried melatonin for sleep? Buy it at health food store.
How about aftercare. Support groups?
Hey Jess, this just in. Everyone's story is similar to yours. You can't sugar coat it. Detox stinks! But listen to yourself. You want to quit! That right there is the most important thing. Don't lose sight of all the bad times and the wasted years you've endure. That's not fun. Right? A small fraction of your life is worth it, to get and stay CLEAN! Your here right now. We can do it. Let's go back to a time where we could function and we were happy. It's right there for you. You Can Do It!
Now about the Xanax. Simply put. It's not a sleeping aid. Quick acting and quit to leave your system. It's also a habit waiting to happen. Please be careful. Good Luck........ike and don't go nowhere. Keep posting. It helps a lot.
