How long can a PD keep you on Oxycontin?

My PD has had me on Oxycontin since 2007 with a deep depression added to chronic pain and a breakdown in March to where he basically thru me a trial pack of Pristiq and told me his meeting was starting and he would be late.  This doctor is an ego maniac and whenever I tell him about what my shrink has talked to me about the depression he nods and gets his script out and begins writing.  I want off this med (oxycontin) since I have become a slave to it and I am getting no better after 5 operations, 8 epidurals and 1 nerve block.  He was the doctor my attorney (and I use that word loosely) directed me to go see.  So when we need to settle my medical bills from the PD are over $400,000 because he charged each epidural at $22,000.  So, can anyone tell me first how to get over my anger of being taken by my own attorney and doctor and second how to get off oxycontin?  I should write a book on the dumbest woman alive.  To have your own attorney do this to you.  Don't ever go to a doctor your attorney picked out for you.  You look for a doctor on your own that will work on a lien.

It's time for you to stop being a victim here. Do you have insurance? Go find your own doc. Pain is a terrible thing to live with but narcotics actually makes your pain feel worse than it is. Many people on here will attest to that. This forum is a wonderful support for when you are ready to quit. Get some family on board and wean yourself or just rid yourself of all the pills and jump. There are vitamins and supplelments and an amino acid protocol all found on this website. You can do this. You don't have to be a slave to these pills. Take control! You will have a rough time for a few days.... but as things get better and better for you, you can use your time clean to help others get through the rough spots. Good luck and keep posting!
